The Les George Knives Thread

Happy Thanksgiving to all!

Can we talk clips? Due to my hand/knife size ratio the stock clip is digging into my middle finger. Thinking of bending the end down but before I do thought I’d come here and ask for suggestions.

Same thing happened with my Mcnees, I prefer the stock clip but bought an aftermarket to make it more comfortable.

Do the Steel Flame clips have less of a sharp ramp. Anyone tried a RGT Benchmade clip?

While I like fancy clips I’m looking for function over fashion right now. TIA

LG uses the standard Benchmade/Emerson pattern, so anything marketed for them will fit.

As a self-proclaimed clip junkie, I'll try to help you out here. You've got a few options:

1) RGT clip - It has no ramp whatsoever so there definitely wouldn't be a hot spot. It is milled, however, so it'll be a bit thicker.
2) Lynch clip - Less pronounced ramp than the standard clip, but the deep carry nature of it won't work well with the Talos since the top of the clip will stick out past the end of the scales.
3) Jarosz clip - Slightly longer than the standard clip with slightly less ramp. This might work as it would hit a different spot of your hand and not poke out as much. I like the hybrid spoon shape, but you may not.
4) Steel Flame clip - The longest of any of the clips, so, like the Jarosz clip, it would hit a different part of your hand. It also has less of a ramp than the standard clip. I find the 2D ones very comfortable, but they're a pain to find and expensive.

In conclusion, I'd suggest trying an RGT clip (they have a 25% off sale right now through 12/2) or a Jarosz clip. If you don't mind spending the money, a Steel Flame clip would also look great on the Talos.

Ck out the Emerson clips. The tip of the clip is flattened and I have noticed they’re a little better in hand than the LGs.

I looked at the Emerson clips and it seemed like most were satin. I need to take a closer look I’m sure they have some stonewash offerings.
The ramp looks like it would be softer on the hand

It's ok, only I can hear it's screams 😁
I hear ya...

I swear I'm never at the right place at the right time to get one. VECP has been on my short list for the last year and I'm always a day late.
You can't go wrong with either the button lock or the frame lock, but if you have your choice, I give the "edge" 😁 to the frame lock. The new Talos is a fantastic knife as well and well worth the money.

I'm going to happily grab either (I do really like button locks, though - thanks to Protech).

That Myna, tho. I may have to switch gears after seeing that. Or just get both - which is always the best option.
