Finding which one gives the best tip on the Crayolas!Checking out some D7 goodness in anticipation of a Hyrax that a good buddy snagged for me in Texas today!View attachment 2813375
So I was fondling my VECPs and noticed that there are variations even in the separate generations of the model. Note the difference in pivots, one screw is even more domed than the other.View attachment 2816057View attachment 2816058
As far as I know, they are both V3sAre these both V3s? Trying to figure out the differences between the versions - but is it only the V3s that have the thumb-stud valley like in the pics?

The Herald of LG has spoken! Hear ye, hear ye!One mo time. V1-v3 top to bottom.
V1 and 2 have the stop pin all the way through the scales. The sure way to differentiate a v1 from a v2 is the v1 has a larger cut out for the lockbar relief. V3s do not have the stop pin through the scales and also have the groove cutout by the finger choil (thumb stud valley). There are what we call early v3s as well that usually came with a geared backspacer but you can also spot a early v3 because the lockbar isn’t chamfered on the inside where you disengage the lock like the later ones. V3 is the latest and still current version of the vecp.

Those are two great reasons why we endure flying across the country and waiting in line for hours. Dedication, motivation, and a touch of lunacy tends to pay off.Been a whirlwind week since returning from Blade TX, but wanted to share my pick ups w/ the gang
Les’ spread was fairly light and his table was cleaned out entirely by 11:30AM or so, but the Defiant7 crew rolled deep w/ a ton of inventory.
Necroanax and I were fortunate to spend a good chunk of time both Friday, after the madness subdued, and Saturday chatting w/ Les, Parker, Caleb, & Cole. I can’t tell y’all how impressed I am by the dudes at the helm of D7.
For a group of 20-21 year olds they were super engaged and gladly indulged our endless onslaught of knife nerd questions and conversations. They have so many cool projects in the works it’s hard to comprehend how they’ll get ‘em all done but damn if it isn’t exciting!
Happy Friday y’all

You would know it buddy!
Can anyone with a Hyrax and a Myna post a comparison photo and general thoughts about similarities/differences between the two?
It's definitely smaller than the talos. I got mine in and it had a huge scratch on the blade. Gotta send it back! Unfortunately I didn't get a picture togetherCan anyone with a Hyrax and a Myna post a comparison photo and general thoughts about similarities/differences between the two?

The guys at the D7 booth told my buddy they are about to release a run of the servo with a reverse tanto blade similar to the myna. Personally I love the drop point swedge blade....Smaller than the Myna? I thought it might be. I like the look of the Hyrax but, as this thread has discussed before....oh look another drop point with a swedge. The Myna is a welcome departure from that in my eyes.
