The Les George Knives Thread

Well I was expecting my Skiffs Saturday so I took the Myna apart and worked both the stop pin itself and the slot where it seats with some 1 micron diamond emulsion on a Q tip. While testing and playing with it I determined that the pin fits perfectly and smoothly in the slot in "open setup"- just holding the pin and fitting it/rolling it into the slot. When the blade is on the pivot and the pin is in its hole, the blade hangs up at full open.

My Skiffs were delayed by USPS so I reassembled the knife and it was definitely improved after just spending a few minutes working both the pin and slot with the diamond emulsion, and adding a tiny dab of grease to the stop pin makes it even better yet. Skiffs are out for delivery this morning, so I'll probably install them tonight and do a little more polishing in hopes that I can get the last little bit of "stick" out of it.

Anyone else have a similar problem of thinking whatever LG is in the pocket just might be your favorite?

I'm going to have to eat my words on that one. I know I've said the Myna wins every time, but ever since the VECP v3 landed, it's been really hard to let it go. The V2 is great, but the subtle changes on the V3 just take it over for me. I can't believe how smooth this thing is - probably the slickest, glassiest PB washer folder I own. I don't really fidget with knives much, but the way this thing flicks open and clacks into lock is just a bit addictive - can't seem to put the darn thing down. lol

Lol, aint nothing wrong with that buddy! Those were exactly the same reasons I became a LG junky. My first vecp blew me away as well. I also love the sound of flicking em open and the action, well that goes without saying.

Just wait till you get your hands on a new Talos! This thing is slick as snot and a fidgety pleasure to thumb flick. I'm sure my coworkers think I'm a psycho 🤣PXL_20250325_153528291.jpg

I'm already there on the new Talos. ;) Mine is brand new and isn't quite as slick yet, but it's darn close. Once I break it in, I have a feeling the VECP v3 and Talos are going to be fighting for pocket time. I flip-flop on which grip I prefer - when I grab the Talos, it's like "oh, this is it." Then I grab the VECP and I'm all "nah - it's this one." I guess it's a really good problem to have. lol

Also - I would love it if LG would take either design, keep the same vertical specs, and make a true 4" cutting-length blade model. I'd throw cash at their front door for that.

I just want to give a shout out to those fantastic folks that proxy these amazing blade shows and help those of us that are geographically challenged still end up with some amazing pieces, sometimes at a cost to their own collection. You know who you are buddies!PXL_20250326_021018791.jpgPXL_20250326_021138857.jpg
