The Les George Knives Thread

Tephra Tuesday for Day 28 🤘

This Rockeye was a lotto piece at BladeShow 2018. If you have not scrolled through Les’s IG or the George Knives, Inc public page on Facebook I highly encourage you to sometime. His BladeShow 2018 line up was absolutely absurd 🤯🫠

This one has brighter stonewashed Tephra milled scales, blue anodized pivots and stand offs, Zirc pivot collars, a killer milled Moku-Ti clip, and some of the most unique Nichols damascus I’ve come across.

Sharing a special piece from the collection on our home stretch towards Halloween. It's a Les George ESR made from the first Moku-Ti Les ever worked with, which was forged by Chad Nichols and sold at Blade Show 2011 where the material made its debut. At the time, Chad even checked with Chuck Bybee of Alpha Knife Supply to ensure there were no conflicts with his Timascus patent. Thankfully, there were none.

To put this piece in context, back in 2010-11 Les’s ESRs were almost exclusively built with G10 and/or plain, unmilled titanium, true to their rugged, utilitarian roots. This one marked a major departure from that style as a fully dressed build that helped usher in the design language Les would later refine and revisit across a range of stunning pieces in the years that followed.

Features include:
  • Speed holes in the handle (very unusual for Les)
  • Matching milled clip with hand-peened pins
  • Moku-Ti backspacer – smooth on the exterior, rock-sculpted on the interior
  • Sweeping milled contour lines on both the show side and lock side scales
  • Chad Nichols high contrast Blackout pattern Damascus
Grateful to have this one in the collection. 🙏

Please forgive the serial killer gloves. Without them, the smudges take over fast.
