The life of a Case peanut from Day 1

Been following this thread all along and I have to say it is an outstanding one. Demonstrates one of the biggest rewards from having a knife that gets pocketed a lot: You get to see it change and become "yours" over time.

That is a beauty and I look forward to seeing how it looks in a few years.

Dittos!! My sentiments exactly, this is an exciting thread and fun to follow. Awesome photo documentation of an EDC pocket knife!

I love this thread. I keep checking in on it, even when there are no updates.
I really enjoy watching the progression and "character" this peanut is developing over time. I received a NIB chestnut peanut two days ago and I've begun its own character building. Yesterday I used it to prepare dinner and snacks for the kids. Even used it as my steak knife, to see how it would work. No problems at all, and my sons were amazed that the small blade could work so well.
Not attempting to derail your thread, just giving recognition to you for inspiration.
And about your recent pictures: the bone is definitely looking pocket worn and the patina is a nice, dark gray. Looks very well used and taken care of. Anything special you do to it?

Nope. Just tote it in a pocket full of keys and coins. Don't tell anyone, but I'm visiting the U.S. right now, and left the 'nut back home in Europe. Instead, I'm carrying my GEC Calf Roper Slim.

I just noticed this thread for the first time, and although I've only read the first couple of pages and the last page so far, I think this thread is AWESOME!!:D:thumbup:

What a great idea you had back when your Peanut first arrived, Mark! It's amazing to be able to watch its "evolution". I probably should wait until I have the time to read the entire thread to get the answer, but the suspense is already killing me.:p:eek:

Have you carried the Peanut EVERY day since you got it?? I already read that you left it home while you were in the States for awhile, but other than that kind of thing, has it been the Peanut since 2010?:confused:;)

My little fella I carry every day.

Think he's a 1970, which is cool because it's my birth year. :)

No, it's not been a true EDC. But I'd say I've carried it 9 days out of 10.

Glad you're enjoying the thread, btw. :)
