My parka? It's a large. I wear a Carhartt medium (which are generally pretty large) and it fits me. I'll take some measurements.

Question for you machete lovers, how does the blade hold up? Are they really good wood processing tools? My only exp with one is a $3 pot-metal one from harbor freight and it was (as you can guess) less than impressive. Blade was absolutely horrible.

You can process softwood faster with a machete than an axe if comfortable using it. You can clear trails, dig holes, shave, prep food, carve wood, and do other detail work, and the edge will hold up fine. To be honest, people often ignore that though machetes are thin, the extra width translates to strength and massive cutting power. I would suggest again that you get a Tramontina with a sheath for like 10-20 bucks from baryonyx knives, and ask Benjamin to bring the edge all the way to the handle. Then you'll have everything you want in a blade.

Alright, you got it! PM, or email me your addy!

Lol isn't hazel bluish green? If so I think someone else won it. They said hazel before me.

Actually wiki says hazel only counts as brown/green? I was always told that blue/green was hazel.

Ok. I'll let someone else have it.

I have been asking for a bushcraft fixed blade since the first forum. Just saying, I don't want it all.

Plus, this is my first for today. I still am happy to let someone else have it.

Nope, sorry. It is yours. You hooked me up with a sweet blade, you won the game, it's yours. Email me your addy.

The chest is 22.5" pit to pit.
The sleeves measure 25" from shoulder seam to cuff
OAL is 31"

Let me know if you'd like it, it's really a nice coat and I almost want to keep it after trying it on again. Haha.

OK, here's the deal: I love this thread! It's been amazing! So much good has been done! Far beyond my expectations! Absolutely delightful!

BUT: if we go down the road of exclusion and limitations, I'm, with all due respect, out of the game. Somone else can take over starting a new thread, an it will carry on without my participation.

I started this thread welcoming all, and with no firm rules, for one reason: everyone should have a chance to give and receive. Excluding people who don't have memberships might not allow someone to give a membership, which has happened a few times already. Limiting to one thing per day might limit them from gifting one of those items to someone we don't know who needs the thing they received. Yeah, I don't want to stop that.

Watch the movie Pay it Forward. It was about getting a gift first and then giving something to someone as a thanks. Maybe we got it backwards. Or I did, at least. Either way, this has been great while it's been going like it has been going this way.

It's up to everyone to decide what we do next. If you are all insintant on limitations, that's a new GAW for someone else to police. I'm not up for that. PM me if you want to do that, and I'll shut this thread down so you can start the new one without confusion.

Jim

Here's just an idea for the next thread, though it kind of negates the true PIF spirit, it keeps the same from dibbing over and over. I agree with whomever was in chat with WW...there are many reasons I've stayed out of this thread.

First person has 3 things they'd be willing to give, so they make a list:
  • ZT777
  • Lotus Exige
  • Katy Perry
  • BF Membership

Only one list can be up at a time and the person offering marks it as a package or choose one, choose two, etc...

Person who calls dibs on an item then puts up their list (color would make it stand out), and the cycle continues, but with more order and less begging and quick calling every last item.

I have given a few nice things and taken a few nice things but I am staying out of the politics.:)

If you go here http://www.onestopknifeshop.com/store/bladeforums-premium-gold.html

you can pay for any members membership just with their screen name.. they dont even have to know your doing it... AN awesome idea for others who dont have stuff to give, just go to that site and pay for another members membership, thats a truly great gift and benefits the community too!

Wow apparently they did away with the basic membership and the gold went up $15 from last year. I agree this is a good way to giveback to the thread and is certainly paying forward.

Ok Nate im calling that as a package deal, and Katy needs to deliver the ZT for me, K?

I hope she's in a good mood or that ZT could be used in a manner you would not appreciate!

Another one to offer!!

I have a well used Kershaw Scallion, black version with black handle and black blade. It was carried by my wife for a while (in her purse...you know what that means). Yes, it looks like knives I've carried for years, but she only carried it for a few months in that mess of a "purse." She loves the Scallion for its size and ease of use. Also liked that it locked and wouldn't open on her in her purse. It needs to be cleaned up a little but is fully serviceable.

No restrictions for this one...anyone can take it. Just be the first to email me with the model number of the new Hinderer design flipper that ZT is coming out with (should be hitting stores soon)...it's the in-between between the 0550 and 0560....Hint hint!

Yea i think it cost a little extra to do another members membership than your own. I think i paid 25 for gold if i remember correctly.

Sorry World, Katy is mine. End of story.
She's going to be too busy cooking my breakfast and singing to me in the shower, k?

Here is a Bowflex heart rate monitor watch which I no longer use, I have a monitor that links to my phone now.
It isnt continuous but has a feature to give instant heart rate from your fingertips (from the silver tabs by the display)
This would be perfect who is doing hands free cardio, walking, jogging, ect and would like to check their hr occasionally.
I only ask it be put to regular use and that you "pay it forward" just as Jim described.

I'm with Jim here...I think there are ways around the very few issues we are having around here. They are the exception and not the rule. I think that if you start regulating something like this, the entire point of it, and the fun of it, is gone. If someone is being clearly selfish and unethical, then people will know and skip over them when it comes time to give their item to someone who called it, even if that jerk was first.
