The Mighty Mighty Moose! Post your mighty moose and provide insight to this pattern!

Wish I could have been in on that AAPK moose. Every single picture I've seen has been outstanding, and I still don't have any blood red jigged bone in my collection.

Beautiful knife indeed! I absolutely love my recent Tidioute Moose. While the pull is firm, it has the best action of any slippie I own. Very crisp and strong as a knife this size should possess. The snap and solidity actually surpass the pull, nothing worse than a stiff pull and slow action.

What cover did you go with? Post a pic!!!:D

An old pic from a month or so ago

Blade configuration aside, this knife deserves to be called a "Moose" based on size and heft alone! :D

and the real thing, taken while fishing one evening a few years ago on the local run:

Wow! Stunning pic. Still haven't ordered mine. Was going to go ebony, but the last two pics really male me think about the jigged bone. They look great.

Got an email saying an ebony moose was sighted in OK heading toward PA. I should see it in a few days! Will post a pic.

The downright "handiness" of the Moose is amazing! I posted pics of the Vintage Knives Model 1902 Moose that Glenn re-scaled for me earlier in this thread. A couple of weeks ago, a buddy of mine asked if I cold use another deer for our freezer...of course I said "Yes!!!" We spread a shower curtain over the dining room table in our 100 year-old home and proceeded to butcher the already-quartered deer. The only knife I used was my Moose, and, in particular, the spear-point blade. I cut up all that fine venison using just that one knife. Stewart Edward White was right, you only need a good jackknife to get it done!

Regards,
Ron

The Moose finally showed. I think it was delayed a bit because of weather, but it made it! I have to say that it is not the best finished of all my GECs, but I am really liking the size, weight, and pattern. Ranks up there now as one of my favorites. Here's a pic by itself and one of it with my other wood scaled knives for comparing wood colors and sizing.

PS... sorry my pic taking skills are what they are!! LOL

Hey!! Congrats on the Moose, SAK Guy!!:thumbup:
Worth waiting for a superb Winchester like that one! :D:D

Wow SAK Guy, you waited for a perfect example of the Moose pattern - very nice Winchester! OH

Thank you OH!!! I researched it for a long time and decided that a GEC Moose might be too tough on my nails/RA so I jumped on this beauty. It is nice and firm but not a nail breaker. Carbon steel blades and bone scales....I'm very happy with it.
