the most expensive knife, you lost?

I lost a damasteel Mikov lever lock with arctic birch scales 2 years ago. Still ticks me off to think about it. Russ

I lost my mini grip with D2 steel while camping. Dropped it somewhere, never found it.

The worst thing was when my house was broken into and they stoled 3 handguns and all my knives and back then I only purchased Bucks of all types when Buck was in San Diego and used good material, Kabar's and Case pocket knifes. There was about 15 knives involved including the original Buck folders with the brass hardware (2 ea) and the old Kabar's and the great old Case knives. That happened in the late 70"s and I'm still pissed about it. Never got any of it back including my Ruger 357, 22lr/22mag nor my Browing Hi Power. I hate thieves... Sorry I got off topic a little.

Benchmade 940. It still ticks me off that I lost that one. The one I miss the most is the old Tekna, pushbutton skeleton folder. I still find myself looking for that one, and I lost it well over 20 years ago.

Ed Chavar neck knife that I had commissioned for some NGO work in SE Asia. Was at the beach once and realized that I still had the sheath but no knife! I hope nobody stepped on it.

The only knife I ever lost was an Endura 3, which I think jumped out of my pocket when I was exiting a vehicle. Thats not so bad, and I rarely cry about it these days. But I don't really carry any truly spendy knives for the most part, so I have a limited opportunity to lose one of them.

While not expensive in currency, losing my 1st pocket knife, a Buck Knight was horribly costly to a young man who had to fess up to dad that he had lost his greatest treasure. Even more costly, was my 8 yr. old having to tell me that he lost his own Byrd Meadowlark, I assured him that I knew exactly how he felt, and after a fair wait, and some "be responsible" talks, he got his Alox Farmer, and all was well.

I lost a Spyderco Police 3 G-10 at a concert a while ago. When I noticed it was gone and went to look for it it had been snatched. I can only hope that whoever found it is someone that will actually use it and not abuse the crap out of it. This is the only knife i've lost that i can remember, but i guess im lucky!

At sleep away camp, when I was 11, I had this great Coast back-lock, it probably wasn't expensive, but my dad gave it too me, and it was the first locking knife I ever owned, some kid I'm almost sure that I know who it was stole it, I still see the guy around town, now over 15 years later, I never said anything to him, because I was not sure if he was the the person who stole it, but I have always held a grudge. I know this makes me seem a bit crazy, but for some reason I just never forgot about that.

PS, the next visiting day, my dad got me a new knife, also a Coast back lock, and I still have it today.

I've posted this a couple times before. I lost my CRK lg. reg. seb for 11 months. Found it in Feb. of '11.

I looked everywhere I could think of. I never gave up hope thou. I had a headlight bulb burn out in Feb. of this year. I went to get a new bulb from the box where I keep extra bulbs

and there was my seb. I don't remember putting it there and Never would have looked there for it. I'm glad I had a hl bulb burn out!

I lost a benchmade mchenry williams benchmite on the beach. If I ever saw one again I would buy it in a second, I loved that little knife.

A Leatherman Wave which was still on my belt that I had temporarily put in a garbage bag along with some other diesel fuel soaked clothing. I had to get out of my clothes in a hurry, so everything I had on went right in the bag. A deckhand just doing his duty came along and took out the trash. Ouch. I'm glad it was a common production knife, easily replaced but it's funny how it still hurt. My multitools have saved my bacon more than once, so I'm very partial to them.

$70 Buck Solitaire that went missing for over 6 years. Found it just a few months ago in a pile of junk in the garage. Damp and un-heated for all that time (-30c winters) , that knife looked just like the day I lost it.

While moveing last year, i was disposeing of a number of boxes etc. Somehow, my brand new Recon 1 AND ZT 301 got mixed in with the boxes that i was throwing out. In a landfill somewhere around Seattle, are my hard earned knifes...... Damn you silly brain!

Thats too bad, Im really sorry to hear you guys lost some great knives...:(

If I ever had a really nice knife and was out and about Id para-cord it on to my belt or something...

Even when I sit in my car things slide out of my pocket all the time.

I never lose knives but went thru the bizzare experience of losing a Kershaw 1050 and a balisong on two seperate trips to KY that were not over a year apart. The total cost of these was around $250, and we are talking 25 years ago - some serious money for me at the time.

Lol I don't consider myself a superstitious man but posting what I'm about to post seems to be tempting fate...

I've never lost an expensive knife. (Though to be fair I didn't HAVE any expensive knives until fairly recently)

The only knife I've ever lost at all is a Victorinox Tinker that got lost and found several times when I was a boy.

My first spyderco a cf native. Ahh it's ironic because on that trip I had bought a benchmade 940 and had been playing with it all along and forgot about the native it got kicked out of the car :(. Hopefully the person in that parking lot that found it will enjoy it!
