the most expensive knife, you lost?

I had just bought this Dawson Kissaki at a gun show for 370 dollars. I was working in the Sierra Mountains of Baja. We found a large marihuana field that we spent the better part of the day destroying. After we were finished I went to take out my knife to cut some rope and it was gone, fell out. I looked for it till nigh fall. Never found it.

A few Spyderco Police all at different times over the last 15-20 yrs or so. 1 in Viet Nam, 1 in Jamaica, and a couple back home.
Think its a favorite? :) I fell in love the first time i saw it, thin profile, simple, sleek, 4" blade, and whats that clip thingy? Cool
Now I've had affairs over the years, but she still holds a dear place in my heart.

Case Bose Dogleg Jack in antique bone, I think it fell out of my pocket into the recliner at Starbucks. Damn my work pants and their useless pockets, still keep an eye out for it but she's gone.

For the longest time I had a Buck folder, I believe it was a ranger. Just like the one my grandfather always carried. About 5 years ago, when I was 20 at my first trucking job, I was unloading a load of corn at a co-op. When I went to close the hatch door of the dump trailer, it wouldn't close due to corn stuck in the grooves, so I whipped the buck out to clean it out. Part way through, I somehow managed to drop it, and it fell through the grate in the corn, and the auger. By the time I yelled at the co-op guy to stop the auger, it was gone :(

I still dont know what happened to my meerkat. Lost that and several bucks when I was a teen. Had a super cqc-7 stole from me in 07. Someone probably sold it for 20 bucks. Still have a bad taste in my mouth and give my dad hell for letting his friends in the apartment.

The most expensive knife I "lost" was due to theft, and not anything I did, except to trust someone.:thumbdn::mad:

The knife in question was a Boker Titan Defender, a knife that cost me ~$400! It is a knife that is worth the price and one I hope to replace when I can.

I lost a Klotzli a few years ago. Left it in a restaurant, and amazingly when I went back for it, nobody had seen it. That was a $450 knife down the tubes (or more accurately, in some grubby busboy's pocket). :grumpy:

Where? I need to.... Er... "practice" my metal detector.... skills :D

Case USA, Stag Stockman. Took me about 3 months to talk a co-worker into trading it to me. Was cutting rope and left it on a ledge outside the building I was working. Came back out and the knife and rest of the rope were gone. It was stolen, but I consider it lost. Never should have used it as an EDC, but was so proud of it. Lesson learned.

The only knife I ever lost was a CS Mini Pal that was on my key chain my Freshman year of college. Darn thing must have hooked on something. The worst part was that it apparently turned up in the car of a girl who at that point in time was a recent ex. I sure wasn't getting that one back! :D

Especially between your ribs:D.

I lost a Bryan Breeden custom fixed blade within an hour of receiving it. The only thing I got to cut with it was test paper right out of the box.

Lost a Spyderco Para-military (first gen) in 2006 that was about $150 with tax. Pretty sure it was stolen and not really lost. The apartment I was staying in was rather empty and one of my roommates had a couple day-time parties while I was out. It was a partial Christmas gift and really sucked telling my father when he asked me how I was enjoying it. He had driven me around northeast Ohio for hours helping to find the knife when I was visiting back home just a few months before.

Lesson learned (among several) that having a couple of pretty, party-loving girls for roommates seems like a great idea but really isn't.

I lost a forged folder in 01 from Wayne Valachovich in a move 22 years ago. At times I still look for that knife. It went with me on a caribou to hunt in New Foundland in 1988 and dressed many hogs in Florida. Still haunts me that it was lost.

Benchmade 910D2 Stryker. Had been misplaced, found it, and then misplaced again and can no longer locate it. :(

I lost my first ever "quality" knife after the pocket clip broke. A spyderco ocelot, I was devastated when it happened, dropped out of my pocket somewhere when I was romping about town. I lost a spyderco h1 spyderhawk too at a die antwoord concert moshpit in canada, :(

I check my knife pocket excessively after losing the ocelot but it's amazing how easily things disappear in a concert. Ohwell, you live and you learn
