the most expensive knife, you lost?

I've lost a few nice ones. Most expensive was a small Sebenza 21. I have an idea where it's at, but it's a large wooded area. I've walked it a couple times without luck. I figure the blade's probably not doin too good (lost it back in Nov.), but the Ti should be alright.

Al Mar folder (late 80's model)
Kershaw folding field
BM 710 but found it a few months later stuck behind a couch
Others, but can't remember what they were

I didnt lose it but rather it was stolen. a vintage well used and well loved USMC Kabar.

Lg Reg Sebenza... lost it in the Arkansas River several years ago. bummer!

I feel your pain, archieblue.

I had my small Regular with double silver lugs clipped to my lifevest while on a waverunner on Smith Mountain Lake here in Virginia. Just leisurely riding along with my 10yr old Son sitting in front of me, with the knife clipped where I'd clipped it a gazillion times before. I always felt better with it there than clipped in my pocket. Got back to the dock and it was gone. I guess it got knocked out from the little bit of bouncing around we did over some waves.

While I certainly won't make that mistake again, the fact of the matter is, when you carry a folder religiously, you risk loss, be it accidental or as the result of confiscation in an inadvertant situation. It's a fact I live with, and the reason I've got a spare or two.

Ive carried my Benchmade Stryker in 154cm since about late '02 early '03. in that time frame Ive lost it twice. Once was about a year ago in CONUS. I lost it somewhere between home and work(about 7miles). I tore my house apart, posted $50 rewards everywhere and walked the 7 miles(rural) twice. believe it or not my Mom found it in the recliner. yes, I gave her $50.

The other time was pure luck that it was found. I lost it during the invasion of Iraq. I was Marine Infantry and noticed it missing after returning to my AAV after a sweep and clear of a little town on the way to Baghdad. About 48 hours later one of the boots(fresh new Marine) brought it up to me letting me know that a guy in another company told him it was mine.

Case Swayback Jack :( Great knife, too

I found it! I went over to my dad's house, and there it was, sitting on the counter. It had fallen out of my pocket and then into the couch, eventually making its way through the cushions and onto the ground. The edge had dulled badly from rust, but a quick sharpening and it's back to shaving sharp and I'm very happy to have found it. I'm used to a GEC second that has scales a bit too small, and trying to get that thing to have no edges or corners that kind of catch your attention when you run your fingers over them has been driving me insane. The Case is nice and smooth, and if something doesn't quite match up it's at least polished smooth.

schrade pal 120t lost in apile of damp pine needles for about 2 months.3 hours with a sandpaper sponge when my dad found it

The thread who hurts ! ;)
A year ago now : a stag Terzuola for me, probably went out the pocket when sitted, it was my previous 'grail knife'. . . Still don't use clip since, but pouch deep in the pocket, and hope the man who find it knows one thing or two about knives :(

Can't tell you how much stuff I've seen lost in that lake. If I could get what's just lost around the Ponderosa I'd be rich!

That's what I always hope too. At least the person might appreciate it then and take care of it the way you would have. They might get the same level of enjoyment out of it, right? [Note: This does not apply to scumbags who take knives when they know who lost them, but then don't return them to their rightful owners.]

I also lost a Case redbone pocketworn, not expensive or anything, but I do miss it.

I almost lost a $350 Mnandi knife. I left on a lawn cheer at the hotel pool one night. An hour later in my room, I realized it was gone. I ran down and thank goodness it was still there. The price was not the biggest concern but the knife's sentimental value.

only lost one a gerber gator mate. No idea where it went. Had 2 stolen, a nice buck sirus in ATS 34 and a swiss army swiss tool.

Al Mar SERE 2000, stolen on FTX. The one that hurt the most was a Gerber MKII Viet Nam era, it was given to my father by a SEAL he rescued. Mysteriously disappeared somewhere between Richmond Va, Hampton Va and Houston Tx.

lost a few very painful ones, a gutman cutlery "squirrel hunter"* very nice small knife from the 70's fake pearl handles brass bolsters, great watch pocket knife, got it from my dad.. also lost a spydie dragon fly that I liked alot. some others.. always G.D. painful when that happens..

try to be mindful but when tired or in a hurry make mistakes, lose something you love- hurts like broken heart in romance

* anyone remember those??
