The "My Turn for a GAW" GAW *WINNER ANNOUNCED!!!*

I don't mind at all thank you for sharing more of your happy place! Once I got started interacting in this thread I realized I may have to pick more than one number to actually get to an original post winner but it is so worth it :)
That is so cool you play in a band. I've played the guitar since I was a kid and still play a lot but never had the ability to play on stage...or really in front of anyone else except my family and close friends.

Sunday bump - want to make sure everyone has a chance to get in on this before I draw a number in the next few days. Good luck everyone.

I'm in. Here's a picture of one of my happy places: kayaking in the canals of Padre Island:

Here's another one: enoying a cigar in the courtyard of the Menger Hotel in San Antonio (across the street from the Alamo):

Great thread Darren, I am really enjoying everyone's posts :)

Beauty scene and beauty knife Jack, WOWSER!

Thank you my friend :)

Curling looks like so much fun. I'm glad they expanded the coverage of it during the Olympics.

I was just thinking exactly the same thing John :)

Not trying to clutter up your thread Darren and I've already entered but all the post made me want to go back to my happy place. I've played in rock bands since I was a kid and the last one lasted 11 years. We had a fairly large following and that was probably some of the most fun times of my life.

Nice! My wife and I love kayaking that looks looks like a great place to do it. I spent some time in Corpus Christi and Padre Island when I was really young. I don't remember much except for the really warm water :) Thanks for sharing and good luck!

I think I'm going to draw a number tonight...does anyone know how to change the title of my thread? I can't seem to figure it out.

I think if you click the 'Edit' button at the bottom of your first post, then 'More Options', you can edit the title.

I just tried to check on the Lambsfoot thread, but Chrome blocked me from accessing the page due to "suspicious code"! Don't you just hate software that thinks it's smarter than you are?! o_O

Easier still - click on the THREAD TOOL - top right of your thread and from the drop down menu, click EDIT TILE.

There you go

Thanks guys!

I'm in, thanks for hosting this gaw.

My happy place is my local knife shop. I don't have any pics of it to post, but have posted pics of several fortune finds that I've traded into during my weekly visits. One of them being this Schrade Walden 837 split back whittler.

Great giveaway, if it isn't too late I would like to be in. Here's a pic of a place that will always be special to me. It's an area where we've been camping since I was a little boy.
That looks beautiful! I can smell the campfire and just imagine how quiet it is there :) Thank you and good luck!

I was wondering if anyone was going to call their local knife shop a happy place :) Knife shops are definitely a source of happiness. Good luck in the draw (you may be the last entry)!

Before I reveal the winner, I just want to take a moment to thank all of you for making this a really fun GAW for me. I was able to get to know a lot of you better and you all got to know a little about me. I see there are already several other GAWs in-progress and I hope to see many more.
So I thought I would have to generate a few numbers because there were so many posts that were not entries but I only had to generate once! The winner was willing to take the dreaded first spot and that speaks highly to his character because it is widely believed that the low numbers never win. I've had the pleasure of dealing with the winner outside of this thread and he is a great guy...I couldn't be more thrilled to announce him the winner. He thought he took the first spot but it was really post #2...
