Here's a medicinal common weed that is said to help relieve premenstral symptoms in women and eases menstral bleeding.. It is also used to calm digestive disorders. It was aslo added to ale as a flavoring which is where it got it;'s name..this grows in nitrogenous soil, so is found it waste areas.. Next to parking lots, road sides etc.

Both an edible plant and medicinal herb, the young leaves can be eaten raw. It has a history of treating digestive disorders. For me a nice strong cup of it's tea puts me to sleep every time.

Kind of looks like Holly, any closeup of the leaves. Holly as far as I know isn't edible but rather mildly poisonous.

It also looks a bit like Barberry.
