Wow Joel you gotta love it!

It looks REAL! If Emerson would offer these they wouldn't be able to make make them fast enough.
BTW, I just acquired a Corallus, and it is an outstanding knife!

Damn Joel!! A Waved, Production (sorta) Commander/Rhino . . . That's cool! All it needs is serrations on the upper edge.

Now I just have to find someone to do it for me. I have an "extra" Commander.

Joel,
Once i sent that book I knew you'd be really hooked.
That's a really nice Blade design. I wish it could become a reality.

It has a Persian fighter semblance coupled
w/ the ability to backcut and trap, Palasoot
etc. reverse grip and redirect. Nice Stuff !

Critical: The Corallus is my fav...!

big & fast for a folder. It really blends on the hand....

John: I'm in favor of plain edge, but yes it needs some serrations.... I have an extra commander too!

Lance: That book started a new series of events. Let's the healing begins. (more Emersons of course)

2sharp: you're welcome!

If you don't have that book, you should.

I can't say who made it, but it is an older knife that is no longer being made by this maker.

jbravo, is that a Steve Ryan knife? I have not seen this model before. It kind of looks like a SPYDERCO CHINOOK. Too bad that the handle on the CHINOOK does not cover more of the blade's false edge. It would be awesome serrated!

Jbravo

Very nice, that maker does great work.

An update on the "Combat Commander" (even credit for the name goes to Joel

)

A maker has been found and the knife will be going out to him tomorrow. Complete details on him when the knife is done. (So he can get it done before ya'll bug the heck out of him

)

Here's the scetch I emailed him:

It will will be sharpened on the top edge from the tip to the hash mark, to make sure the sharpened edge is inside the body when the knife is closed.

What do ya'll think?

The coating will be removed. Depending on the condition of the blade underneath, it will either be Satined or BBed. If it needs to be BBed, I could send it off to Walter Birdsong and have it re-"T"ed. Or how about NP3ed . . . . hmmmm.

Yes, I'm going to ditch the wave on this one. Having handled Tamishigiri's and Nyeti's Rhinos, I think there's a reason Ernie didn't wave this model.

One nice thing, it'll retain the thumb ramp, which the Rhino doesn't have.

Just a quick question. I manage a service dept for an H-D dealership. One of my mechs got a plasma cutter from SNAP ON today. Does anyone know if it will ruin the blade if I were to use this to remove most of the metal for this conversion? The guy is cutting every piece of metal he can get his hands on and I think it could be done in seconds. I am not really sure of how this tool works though. This tool is alot of fun. It makes really precise cuts with no effort.
Thanks for any help offered.
