but since the new servers went in it takes a second or two of Chrome "thinking" before it posts my post
This slowed me down today. I was posting from a laptop with a dsl connection, and hit a good refresh and all right moves. Then sat there and watch the little circle go 'round and 'round before processing my post.
(watch=intensely curse at)
Ah my bad. Nathan usually has all relevant info there.
No worries boss. I've been in the Busse forums from the get go and recently started looking around to see what else was out there and found my way here. Pretty excited to get my hands on my first CPK. Signed up for the pre-order of the FK and wanted to try my luck at this 15 knife dash.![]()

Yeah, same. I said, Ah #$% me, and watched the circle, but still made it in. Previous to the server migration, when my post went in it would only show my post. Last one it showed a couple more, which was after the migration. Today it was a solid two seconds of thinking, and probably showed me the first 6 or so posts. And as I said, the order of posts are almost in an outward radiating circle of geographic location.
....
Interesting. So here's another mechanism - random draw from among the first X posts (all that come in the first minute or something). That might reduce geographic bias a little while still rewarding the folks camped out and waiting for the door to open.
It is ever evolving, and I am sure Nathan will address it in some way should he feel it necessary! Every time he thinks he has demand a little more satiated and this sale will be slower, it is faster than the previous one it seems. Maybe that or he has a dead pan delivery that is so good it fooled me.
I'm actually ok with whatever he decides to do. I've said this before - if you want a maker (not a big production company) to make you a knife, it will be a single knife and take a long time (often). Nathan is making multiples available and on a regular basis. I know and he knows (he said so himself) that some folks get frustrated, but he is doing something that makes more than one person happy at a time, at least
Nate, are there any more LCs scheduled to come up the horizon in the next few weeks? If I should win one in due course, can I ask for one without handle scales for which I can use my extra set of TeroTuf for? I didn't want to burden your PM box with this Q![]()
Yeah, I have a little set of 5 in process now. Prolly a couple weeks out.
...sorry, I'm not selling a knife without scales...
Nathan, will the LC ever be available with G10 scales?
Who's going for them Light Choppies today at 3:00 PM EDT?
Answer: Not me! as I'm going to spare some of you slow ones (just for today) with my mad keyboard Jedi skills![]()
I will be attempting to get my first Light Chopper today. Hopefully I'm quick enough.
