OK, I'm back, Ted. I've been busy the last couple days--it's been dreary and the light's been bad when I've had time. I wanted to get some fresh pics as our OP/moderator is exacting and I didn't want to just pull anything off my computer and risk rebuke.
A year ago last Christmas my wife and I bought our own presents. She got a new desktop PC and I got the pictured Wilson StarTac CRK. It was my first all-ti-both-sides knife, bought after I just missed a "normal" CRK 'Zaan on the Exchange. Boy, did I fall in love with the look of the starburst pattern and the great grip it affords.
Next up was the WC Extreme Light Carry in Cocobolo by Fox Knives of Maniago, Italy. This one was purchased on a family vacation to Barcelona from a gorgeous old-school cutlery shop in the Placa del Pi known as Ganiveteria Roca. The knife is the European version, marked slightly differently than those bought here from Wilson Combat. Really sweet little blade in N690C and a nice memento of our trip.
Back in our apartment in Barcelona I was on BF and another WC knife showed up on the Exchange, the Les George Eagle. I began corresponding with the seller while still over there and finished the deal when back Stateside. The knife is a work-carry and is one tough blade in CTS-XHP with a pronounced stone-wash finish-- wicked slim in pocket and a personal favorite.
The last one is the Hogue/Elishewitz Star-light Tactical Folder with "G-Mascus" scales, a black 154-CM blade, and a button lock. Not so sure about this one. The knives are sitting on the stump of a great old black oak on our property that was killed by a pestilence of Gall Wasps. Ironic that it's also littered with acorns from all the surviving oaks nearby. For the Hogue, the setting might be more appropriately called a chopping block as I tighten up and reorganize some of the collection. We'll see.
