The Official Lanyard Thread

This is the first lanyard/fob I’ve seen on a ZT301/303. I like it and have been wanting something for mine, but everything seems too flimsy for a beefy knife like that. What knot/weave is that? Also does anyone know if any other examples of the ZT301/2/3 with lanyards so I can get ideas?

That lanyard came on the knife when I bought it. I’m not sure what the knot is but it is pretty nice. The 550 cord on it is gutted (inner strands removed).

I tied a lanyard on my new NeOn Ultra-Lite today--deep green 550 cord with two elongated crown & diamond knots sandwiching a modest ti barrel. I was thinking of keeping this one without a tail as the smaller knife makes a great discreet carry, but figured I'd try it this way for a while.

Nice tight knots, notwen . I prefer longer and looser lanyards so they hang down outside of my pocket and don't interfere at the butt of the knife. To each his own, for sure, though.

How do you like that Les George ZT? Maybe that stiff lanyard helps with the grip on a shorter knife. I like Les's stuff and have the ZT0909 and his Wilson Combat Eagle. His characteristic ascending thumb ramps give great control in the saber grip.

ChazzyP --- Yes the lanyard doubles as additional support and aids in getting the knife properly gripped one handed. Love the ZT0900, a lot of knife in a small package.

I bought plenty of cord to tinker with, but only see me using lanyards on the smaller knives and any knives that don't give you any decently textured area to draw your knife. I'll be sure to post any as I try new knots.

Had to use 420 cord to get through the tight opening in my Tabargan's backspacer. This one's kinda blue on blue on blue, but it makes the anodized liners really pop.

Love blue on blue. Ive been saving this skull and para cord since xmas for this darn knife. Double diamond and reeve style for AFO.

Hey 4mer, I probably got it on that Big River Site. You gotta look around there, but it was likely thru Paracord Planet. The other thing to try is googling Bored Paracord. I've been buying from them lately--they have nice stuff.

I just searched my Orders page at the big A, and it was indeed Paracord Planet--sold by Outdoor Bunker.

Edit: Don't know what you consider a large quantity. I usually buy 50 foot hanks as they're only 6-8 bucks. Sometimes they're out of 50s and send 100s at no extra charge.

Blade gurus... Several lanyards I’ve bought recently from Emerson and ZT have come with a small white thread in its own separate mini ziplock bag. Does anyone know what this string is for? I’ve never seen nor used them before. Any feedback on what these are?

Great collection. I love the Williams CRKTs. I think I saw the Hassatsu and the Heiho in there. I have and love both of those.

Best I can figure, they're feeder threads to help get the lanyard through the hole without damaging the lanyard.

I didn't tie this, had it done by a lady at a farmers/artisan market and let her pick colors.
I'm not much for zombie green and purple but that 551-1702 Grip is so plain it needed something. Plus she gives me a discount cuz I've bought quite a few from her over the years.
