The Official Lanyard Thread

Thanks sir, it's a fairly heavy cord and well made too so it's a little harder to tie but you end up with some solid knots.

Thanks Gary, That is a superb lanyard knot. It only took me eight shots to get it right but it'll be on all my lanyards from now on.
This wide diamond knot is still very tricky for me to make. But it provides a very good size knot to hook your finger around

That's pretty quick study getting that knot made in such a few attempts, keep up the good work!

I made a pink lanyard for my Civilian once just for fun, took it off. Only lanyards I keeps now, are the red leather one across my red Douk-Douk for retrieval out of it's case, and one my fiance put on my Dragonfly, the little kitty cat that claps when you put a coin in at the Asian shops, you know that cat? That.

Are your lanyards largely useful, or just for style, like a custom backspacer? Nothing wrong with style, and I am of course aware one could use the lanyard to pull the knife out of a deep pocket or backpack. Any other practical purposes?

Nothing special here--just a new tail after cleaning and reassembling the Turtle as the King Tut that's been on there for years was dirty and tattered. Same bead here with one extra snake knot in the bright new 550 Vibrations.

I had my all-Wilkins Grip out to trim the cord when the Shiro lanyard was done and replaced its tail too as I'd used repurposed cord on that one and had always felt it was too stubby.

Yeah, that's better....

Had this in for a slip sheath and he asked for a red lanyard to also be put on, the hole location wasn't something I thought would work well, but it turned out to be just fine. I tied the whipping knot, also in red, so that the lanyard can't slip over the end of the knife and into the path of the blade when closing, but hangs free while clipped in the pocket.

here's the slip sheath made for it, it will help keep dust bunnies out as well as preventing it getting scratched up while in his pocket. Leather is soft milled veggie tan leather dyed a saddle tan with a celtic embossing into the leather.
