Thanks! After having tried a bunch of different suppliers of the years, many via the big river site, I've settled on Bored?Paracord. I favor supple, all nylon (jacket and inner strands) cord which is their stock in trade. They have a broad selection of patterns, weights, and lengths and prompt delivery.Nice looking Lanyards ChazzyP !!! Where do you get your Paracord?
I don't trim the inners back. I hold each cord out horizontally individually and keep just the edge of the flame on the end 'til it flames on its own. I let that go for a few seconds until it's well-melted with the light center of the blob darkening, then blow it out. Move the cord around a bit so that the end hardens somewhat evenly. Most darker jacketed cords end up with black ends, some end up kinda amber or like their dominant color, and some will be a little lighter in the middle, which can be OK too. Generally, the longer you burn the darker they get, up to a point. What's the trick to getting the ends of the paracord without the inner strands showing? Do you trim the inner strands so they are recessed then melt with a lighter?
Looks greatTaking the doctor out for Fiber Friday. Played with string last night and made a different lanyard for it.
Was hoping it brought out the blue I see in the cross.

Makes a whole different aura.........New knife, new lanyard. I picked up this bead a while back from a maker I like at the Artsy/Craftsy site. Its Micarta and wood along with the Desert Heat cord both add some some warmth and contrast to the all-metal Arius while the brass spacers echo the knife's hardware. I especially like this one's butt-spacer which features an integral lanyard attachment--a particularly favored sort, featured on or added to a number of knives I've acquired over the years.
