The Official Lanyard Thread

Gary, who made that beautiful knife? Thanks.

This wide diamond knot, using some 750lb paracord which is pretty hefty, makes a pretty sizeable knot against this smallish knife ;) but works great. The bead is one that gscreely gscreely Gary Creely made using a 3d printer to match the 3d printed scales on the knife.

Great pics!

I think this is the first time I made a knife purchase based on beads, but when I was back home in Florida earlier this year I came across a bunch of beads from my late mother's collection, which included some really cool Baltic Butterscotch Amber (as well as some Amethyst). I thought about trying to drill them out for paracord, but instead decided to thread them through some micro-cord and make do without altering them. Ultem was the obvious choice, although it's never been a material I was particularly attracted to. I was lucky enough to score this LE Benchmade for about half price on the exchange (which is good given my penchant for modification, which I promptly did). Picked up a Vic Classic to match, and swapped those scales onto a Vagabond.

This David Boye folder has a titanium bail so a regular lanyard would be sliding around too much so I used some milled veggie tan leather and braided it around the bail

Edited to add a couple of photos that shows a walnut rectangular bead I made for the lanyard
A round bead would be way too big so I went with a rectangular one which is kept in place by a wedge of rubberized cork
It’s a large bead but it needed to be to fit the leather and it actually works as a worry bead being so smooth and soft contours.
