On the blue Mel Pardue knife, your lanyard is attached to thr pocket clip. Just FYI, that's illegal in CA!

To me, a lanyard is cord or lace that can be quickly undone and a couple of feet, or more. Short stuff are fobs, imho.

You can move your lanyard easily, from clip to clip. This Whiskers II does have a spot for a camera like lanyard but as a favorite longer lace, I can move it from knife to knife

The eagle, much carried, has leather, as a lot of my knives. A lanyard

The 'fob' lanyard on the SAK is actually a full length pistol lanyard, woven up with a fist and the smaller one, a cut off from another of those, a fob
The SAK lanyard is on a clip, so independant

Funny that you posted here. I was just thinking to myself yesterday that their hasn't been much action here in a while. I even opened the thread to make sure I didn't miss something. Nice pic!
Thanks, Phil. It's not high-traffic here, but still worth checking out and adding a tail or two from time-to-time. I always like seeing what you're up to, too

horseclover horseclover , nice to see your Eagle LW here with that leather pull. I've got both the LW and an HD but carry them clipped. I assume you carry yours without just in the bottom of your pocket. I've always wished I could add tails to mine without sacrificing their clips. I've also got a pair of more traditional Al Mar Talons--Cocobolo Eagle and Polished Linen Micarta Falcon--with lanyard holes, but they're desk knives that live in their leather slips in the drawing board pencil tray. There's not much sense in adding pulls to those.

As shown, the Whisper just has the 'fob' on the clip itself. Most clips have enough space, at their apex, Just push the clip past the cord/leather loop. I still have the clip hardware and box for the eagle.

It's been awfully quiet here lately and I haven't had anything new to share for a while, but I bought a new-to-me knife last week and did a little bead swapping, tying up a couple fresh tails today.

The NKOTB is the humongous BMK Rukus, a knife I'd wanted for a long time and bumped into when just casually looking, after posting in someone's thread about his. I wasn't sure what I wanted to do for a tail, but figured I'd need a largish bead and went looking through several of my favored makers over at the Artsy/Craftsy site. I've got a particular favorite big-bead maker there, but he didn't have a lot to show this time and nothing that jumped off the page at me, especially since his stuff is pretty pricey. I realized, though, I had something that I always thought was too big for the knife it was on that would be just right for material and size and paired it up with some black cord and a pair of diamond knots in my usual configuration.

I had given some thought to doing something a little different with only one knot and a wide diamond at the end, with no trailers after. I might change that up after carrying this for a while.

The knife it came off was my large CRK Micarta inlayed Inkosi which had worn the plain slit leather tail it came with for some years. My similar large 31 had a smaller brown Micarta bead that I'd hung on some "goldenrod" paracord that I bought to match a knife I'd seen and admired on BF. That cord, bought from an unfamiliar seller, was of terrible quality and I changed it out soon after. Oddly, I ended up using that same crappy cord and the too big bead later on the Inkosi with a couple diamonds. I was never happy with it.

I found this nice bead in my stash that I'd bought from a different Etsy seller. I really couldn't remember if its center band was wood or Micarta, but, going back through my purchase history, found it was copper layers infused into the CF. It's a nice complement to the knife's Micarta inlays and the same "vibrations" 550 cord as on the 31 brightens things up.

Here's the two together. The Rukus kinda puts the lie to calling the Inkosi a "large" CRK.
