The "Official" T.M. Hunt Custom Knives Random Chat Thread

I think Timmy did it himself a few posts back when he said he might only make 10 more then quit.

Murph said he had been over there the last couple of days rearranging or grinding a bunch of M18 blanks I think

So.... What's going on in the shop this weekend?

I've been out of town this whole week. Work sent me to a training class in Oh. I the meantime. Murph has been transporting the last of the M-18 blanks back and forth to the machine shop to surface grind .030 off of the width since they came in thicker than the needed 1/4in. As fas as this weekend, who knows. There is several knives together that need finished up and even more ready to be assembled.

Let me know if you guys don't have too many unfinished knives floating around and I could probably arrange a Sun King delivery. I figured things might be a little backed up after Tahir's trip to OH.

Howdy neighbors! Just popped in to say howdy.

Well once I get mine I'm posting it everywhere. Lol. I am going to be a one man m9 marketing team. You will be swamped with orders.

Maybe that's what he's afraid of ;)

Todd, I hear ya, I really do. Some patterns are just weird that way. There are a couple I had to just keep raising the quoted prices on until people finally stopped asking for them. That's probably not the smartest business model, though. :o :p

He told me that to save you some bucks he just went ahead and got them all ground up and he is heat treating them today.

This was the only item in the mail yesterday and it's a keeper!

Thanks, Todd.

Unlike my sh!tty day at work today, shop time at home was very pleasant tonight, got home from a very rough and frustrating day a work. when I pulled up in my driveway, my Dad was here at my shop. he was working on a few of his projects and he brought me a new bandsaw blade. That was cool, plus he listened while I vented about my day. Before he left Murph got here like he usually does every Tuesday night. We joked around with my Dad for a few minutes before he had to leave and we got to work. Murph and I got quite a bit done tonight, I lose sleep when Im behind. I worry I will break a promise or a trust. to me, That's more torturous than anything. Once we slowed down, Murphs old man called and said he was in town, Murph immediately invited him over for a beer (as he should have) So we closed out the night and drank a couple with him. It was a prosperous work night, and with good company. Cant ask for much more than that.

glad you were able too unwind. and take it easy on yourself. we all know how much time, effort and heart goes into your blades. they are worth waiting so you can keep your sanity

That's very nice of you to say buddy, but my sanity was one of the first things I lost years ago.

Sounds like a nice evening. Generally, shop time is happy time (I know customers and vendors can derail that occasionally though).

Speaking of shop time, I'm looking forward to getting a little bit of it myself this weekend and catching up with my Dad as well. I'm headed down South to visit my family, do some much needed maintenance on my pickup and hopefully I'll be able to sneak some time in to play with one of my Jeeps that I had to leave behind.

As someone that knows the value of a TMHunt blade, I can promise you, stay in contact with the people having orders and no one will feel slighted! Hell I'd rather you get some sleep and be feeling good about what you're doing than get my blade tomorrow, I don't care if I get it this year or beginning of next, take care of yourself bubba!

I still call bullshit on Murph doing work though!

Hey Todd, I know it's short notice, but I need a Xmas present for my nephew, the TM Hunt fanatic. He's got a Hornet and a Magua, so it might as well be knife related. I'm not asking you to throw a knife order into your schedule..'cause he don't need a Yuma yet anyway, (and you might be busy now :D) I'm asking your opinion. Can you think of anything with your stamp on it that an 11 year old would dig? Or..since yer kinda humble..can anybody else think of a quick no hassle knife related gift for this kid? I want to encourage his interest in the outdoors in some way other than giving Wal Mart my money.
