The "Official" T.M. Hunt Custom Knives Random Chat Thread

admit it - you thought I had forgotten.

Not forgotten, just hoping you wasn't wishing I would forget. Lol, if this weekend is good in the shop, im hoping to have most all of the knife work coming to a end, but going to be burning the midnight oil for the next three days. When you get here, there will be plenty of prep work and sheath sewing to do. Hope your hands are in better shape than mine. Ive already sewn over 40 sheaths in 3 weeks. :thumbdn: Dad was gracious enough to come by the other day and take a handful of sheaths home to stich up as well as done most of my final sharpening for me. Looks like if everything works out, there will be in the neighborhood of 50 plus T.M.Hunt knives on the table....... I'll get you guys to Alanta. You guys sell em, im going to have to decompress a little.

I always like to play with fire and hammer. Hopefully we can find the time so if its not too much trouble go ahead and throw em in the truck, as far as stiching goes, better learn to do it with one hand between now and then. Lol.

Hello there! Love your knives, wow! I found this in an old thread and felt like reposting it. Was this a one-off thing or would you be open to making another or something similar..? I'm mostly curious.. feel free to PM if u wanna chat about it. I noticed I can't PM you.

Oh yes, a blast from the past indeed. I made that knife well over 10 years ago, as a matter of fact if my memory serves me correctly, that was my first attempt at a hollow grind. I remember the grind wasnt perfect, so to get it that way I had to sand it out by hand. Thus the reason it is polished to a mirror finish. Once I finished it, my mother was so impressed with it she offered to buy it from me. I wouldn't take any money for it. She's really not a knife person, but has a great eye for art. So it was a pretty good compliment to me that she wanted it. As far as I know, she still has it displayed in a glass faced box in her home.
I could definately make somthing similar givin that I can find the materials. I remember the handle material wasnt real ivory, but was one of the best man made versions of it I had ever seen. Had all the right natural textures and fine flaws in it that made it so you couldn't tell the difference. I havnt seen any of that quality since.

yeah, well - I've seen me naked and that's not a sight I'd wish on anyone.

sewed up a pair of M18 sheaths after dinner tonight - and didn't cut myself!
