I agree. His reviews are always a fun read, and full of great info.

His video was also pretty good, and is making today really difficult... My CF is out for delivery, and will be waiting for me when I get home. I find that amusing, as the G10 version I purchased a week before to play with before the CF came out is still sitting in customs, and won't arrive until next week now :)

Lucky dog! I am waiting for Kershaw Guy to get his shipment in so he can fill my order. Probably would have it in hand if I'd gone with one of the guys who already have theirs, but Dave has done right by me with several great knife transactions, so I'll get mine when he gets it!

Thanks Mike - I felt bad about how long the video was...I hadn't intended it to be a Jim Skelton length production....:barf::D:D

Ooohhhhhhh LOL Well said. I need to watch the video tonight when I get home. I am EAGERLY awaiting my 0562CF.

By the time you finish the video, the knife will be back in stock, have shipped, and will be on your door step waiting for you.... :D:D:D

I'm usually not a fan of carbon fiber, but I'm really digging the carbon fiber on the 0562CF:

Assuming you're correct (and I've had the same suspicions) the only other question for me will be how to get the black off those screws. Any ideas here beyond sanding? Any sort of a chemical dip that would work?

I already did so with mine. Do you have a drill press or a dremel? If so, just put one of the screws in the chuck, fire up the drill with the screw in the chuck, and press the screw into a scotchbrite pad. Perfect satin finish in 5 seconds!

That's pure genius right there.... Tiime to fire up the Dremel!

Dang! Three earlier than my #70! :grumpy::D

Interesting that the 0770CF has a larger pivot. How would you compare the carbon fiber itself between the two models? I'm pretty impressed by the CF on the 0562CF...and I don't normally care for CF.

Nice job on the pics!

How's the jimping on the blade, just for looks or functional?

I'm sort of disappointed in the lack of texture/jimping both on the Ti handle slab and the top spine/handle/lockbar similar to the XM18 and the 0560 and that the liner is steel instead of Ti but I'm sure those are all choices made to keep the cost down. Plus sales and popular designs in the knife industry lately have shown that most customers are not interested in a high level of functional grip.

The carbon fiber almost identical between the two. The 0562 edges' have twice the radius, making them appear fuller somehow. The slabs on the 0770 are much thicker, as there's really no liner to speak of.

The jimping is also identical to the 0770CF :) It's not aggressive, but does the job.

You let me know when you want to sell that standard 0562! haha

Can you still use the blade stops like regular thumb studs if you want without the flipper getting in the way?.

The flipper doesn't get in the way, but you need a mighty strong and tough thumb....

No surprise there. Flippers normally incorporate strong detents that are not easily overcome using an opening method other than flipping them open.

I hate being self promotional, but I made a little first look video on 0562CF as well where I compare it to some other knives. If you choose to watch it, thanks!

So I posted on here two days ago that I was NOT buying a 0562cf, that it was too similar to the other knives in my collection.

That I did not NEED it, merely kinda wanted it. I have a 0560 satin, a 0560BW and a 0770cf so far in my ZT collection.

Well, my local knife store ordered 7 at Blade 2014. They just came in, and have two left.

Guess who's driving there momentarily to get his new 0562cf? THIS GUY!

Oh, the madness. I'll bring the 0770cf to keep him company today. His little brother.

Has anyone received a pre-order from BladeHQ yet? I ordered the day after they started taking pre-orders which makes me #120 in line according the them.

They only got 20 or so blades in their first shipment.

Cancelled my preorder for the 562cf because the studs can t reasonably be used to open the blade.
While I have several flippers, I usually open them by thumb when working with them. I mostly use the flipper when I m playing with them. A flipper than can not be opened by thumb stud/hole is of little interest to me.

Same with me. I'm not a fan of flippers and prefer manually opening them with thumbstuds and if I get one of these , that is how I will be opening it.
