Thought that was the Kershaw tilt ??? :)
Just to clear things up I meant a zt562 with a rick hinderer style wharncliffe blade like he has on his xm18's
Kai if your reading please do that you can just call it the zt 563

They aren't THUMB STUDS! They are BLADE STOPS! They were never intended to open the knife by design.
Thanks for the reminder. ;)

It doesn't surprise me that that 0562s and 0562CFs are in big demand. Demand will level off as supply increases. I also suspect that prices will moderate further over time. We'll see if I'm right about that.

Get in line, sector2. I've already got a placeholder on the ZT 0563 for the 3.0" version of the ZT 0562. ;) :)

To be honest with you, I think we're equally likely to see our dream come true, i.e., the odds of you getting a Wharncliffe and me getting a 3.0" 0562 probably lie somewhere between slim and none. But as I said before, at least I have the 0770CF to keep me warm. And once again, there's always the Tilt for the Wharncliffe lover . . . if you can find one, that is.

And then there were two....

So I did manage to secure another 0562CF - the second example (which is the one with the satin finished screws in the above photo) a much higher serial number than my first, which is #70. I lucked out and got number 390 (which is kinda cool since the steel is M390). The second was purchased as a "project knife" that I'll be doing various upgrades and changes to. As you can see I've already removed the black PVD/paint coating on all screws.

Note that you can see that somewhere along the line they corrected how the scales were being cut. In my first example (black hardware) you can see the scale covers the underside gimping on the stainless liner. In the second example (satin polished hardware) you can see that the scale in the same area is cut higher so as to not cover the gimping.

It doesn't really bug me one way or the other as I consider the gimping more aesthetic than helpful for grip/traction. But I'd imagine all it would take is a call to ZT for a replacement scale cut correctly if you have one of the early ones that wasn't cut correctly.
That improvement in the CF scale fit makes me glad my pre-order is taking longer to be filled.

Ok here is the report on my 562
It's ser 0448 and fires like a rocket

the only flaw I can find is that the swedge grind is off by about an eighth of an inch but I can live with it .......I think !!!!

I have ser 0454 and the swedge grind is about perfect. The serial numbers are probably put on at the end and the knives are not sequentially ground.

I just got real lucky and ordered an in stock 0562cf. $246 shipped. considering OverPayBay has them for $399 I think I got a great deal. I called and they had it on hand ready to ship and I should get it by friday!

Was this from some mom and pop shop? I was actually going through the list of ZT dealers trying to get lucky on an in-stock 562cf

Yeah, aparently someone else's order went through before mine when I pushed the button at 11:45 :( at the mom and pop knife retailer.

Wow - so I have a 0562cf on the way that I purchased from a brick and mortar store at $240. I completed the sale with this ancient technology called the telephone! They had 1 left after getting 10 in on Friday.

I cant name names but I found them with the store locator on the ZT website. It was a store that sounded like a knife store, but had no online shop to speak of. I called them and what do you know they have both in stock. Just cancelled my BHQ preorder that I made mid august, so I was on the tail end of those for sure.

Anyway, looking forward to serial #0249 on the way! Whoever said they are out there at unfrequented places was right.

Its not because I'm lazy, just thought you were cute. ;).

I feel a bit uncomfortable, yet also somewhat excited. <3

Rather like the first time I laid eyes on the 0562 (oooooohhhhh back on track, amirite? :D

I'm loving all the pics and reviews, but these quotes right here are easily the best part of this thread. :p

Has anyone received a pre-order from BladeHQ yet? I ordered the day after they started taking pre-orders which makes me #120 in line according the them.

They only got 20 or so blades in their first shipment.

I had mine delivered this past Saturday and man is it a beauty. This is one of the best value knives i have seen in the past few years. This one and the ZT 801 are to me, the best value knives you can buy right now.

.

So I ordered mine(#379) last week from a big box online. Just happened to be checking out some hunting stuff and saw it. $220 with free shipping. Anyway I love it, no issues that I can see. The CF scale does cover the jimping but I don't think I care. What you see in the picture is the clip side jimping.
Took out my 801cf and flipped them side by side for awhile and there's not too much difference but I would give the edge to the 562.. I'll definitely pick up a G10 model when the prices lower a little.

[/QUOTE]

i belive the scale is meant to cover the jimping as if you look at the jimping on the lock side it is only milled part way though to about the same depth as the liner is thick .
I am just thinking out loud here so I could be wrong

I only mentioned it because it was brought up in previous posts that some knives had covered jimping and others didn't. Like I said it isn't an issue for me..:)

I actually like the scale on the early ones more :( It matches the lock side....
