The Official ZT0562 Thread!! (FIRST LOOK)

So my G10 version finally arrived. First thing I noticed, was how much I preferred the G10 texture to the CF scale. I remember a few pages back, someone mentioned swapping the scales on the two. Since my 0770CF has an Elmax blade, I thought I'd do the switch so they match. Very pleased with the results! Almost like it was meant to be ;)

That full stonewash Elmax blade looks gorgeous with the CF scale. I do prefer a full stonewash finish. I have actually been thinking about getting my preordered (yet to arrive) 562CF blade stonewashed by a third party. What do you guys think of this? I know it would be easier to get the Elmax version and a new scale but I really wanted to try out M390. I won't be doing this right away, I'll probably wait until the blade gets scratched up enough to bug me then send it and my CQC 13 (which has the same finish as the 562cf) off to be stonewashed. My CQC 13 already has some scratches on the grinder satin area, but they aren't bad enough to bug me yet.

Thanks Sentinel. One of the sites, the one with the odd name might be out, they list 2 available but the last person I sent there can't add one to his cart so they are either out of stock or experiencing some issues with their online store. Thanks again for the heads up buddy.

Wow - so I have a 0562cf on the way that I purchased from a brick and mortar store at $240. I completed the sale with this ancient technology called the telephone! They had 1 left after getting 10 in on Friday.

I cant name names but I found them with the store locator on the ZT website. It was a store that sounded like a knife store, but had no online shop to speak of. I called them and what do you know they have both in stock. Just cancelled my BHQ preorder that I made mid august, so I was on the tail end of those for sure.

Anyway, looking forward to serial #0249 on the way! Whoever said they are out there at unfrequented places was right.

I know the store you are speaking of, I was holding #0249 last Saturday! Lemme guess, in Ohio?

It was ordered at Blade 2014 and you got their last one. I know, as I picked up #0236 that day. There were only two left, yours and mine, when I was there.

Congratulations!

I ordered one today from a popular site that has had a pre-order going for a while now at $209. I checked their site about 5 times today, and at one point, it said "in stock" for the 0562cf. I placed the order and got an email saying my order would ship tomorrow. I checked the site about 10 minutes later, and the "in stock" notification was gone. I'm thinking I hit a glitch...

Wouldnt be to sure its gonna ship then....If its who I think it is there are alot of people ahead of you

I don't believe it has a rolling detent, more likely a soft sleeve the detent ball is pressed into because the lockbar insert is hardened and couldn't accept the ball being pressed in. The ball didn't seem to roll when I disassembled my knife.

Also if it rolled that would be something somewhat revolutionary and worthy of mentioning in product literature which it isn't.

The steel, even unhardened, would be just as hard as the titanium that the ball is normally pressed into. It took me awhile to notice it too, I work on my knives with nitrile gloves on and with those on you can tell that it rolls. I'll take mine apart again just in case I'm mistaken.

It's the same on all of the ZT's with the hardened steel insert, I'm pretty sure you're right and it's nothing special. No need for anyone to get condescending towards us about something that is functionally identical to every other detent.

Well, it's different than the 777, 0600, 801, 888 so......

Yeah I called them before I posted it, they said that they oversold and the website was wrong.

After having the elmax version for a while I kind of wished I ordered the 0620cf too instead of both versions of this knife. It's a great knife but I would have liked to keep my options open

Oh. My. God. OH. MY. GOD.

Got my 0562CF in, and I am so excited and pleased with it, my friggin' hands are shaking. I will have to snap some pics. I only have one other knife in my collection that beats this knife for fit, finish, and perfection and THAT damn knife cost twice and a half what this one did.

Unboxing this knife was everything I love about being a knife guy. I'm just blown away. Kershaw has done it again. Executed perfection.

Damn.

These are the two best folding knives that I (now) own. It's also my first M390 knife. I'll be whittling on some cinder blocks later to find out if all the stories about M390 are true.*

*Not actually going to try to cut a cinder block. Everyone knows only Busse knives can do that! Come on, now!

Fits my hand perfectly. It is the perfect size. The flipper, one light touch and this blade just flies open, like "WHERE'S THE WORK AT!! I WANT IT!!!!"

I am candidly surprised that Hinderer allowed ZT to make this knife, honestly. I did not have a real interest in paying flipper scumbag secondary market prices for a Hinderer XM-18 in the first place, and I have ZERO interest in doing so now. Plus, I'd rather have the M390 of this knife over the S35V of a Hinderer. I can say that this knife's arrival explains why you're seeing so many Hinderer XM-18s on the Exchange lately. Rats off a sinking ship, in my opinion.

Wooohoooo! Got me order in for the cf for $178 shipped! Now the 1-2 week wait😞. The suspense is going to kill me, and the great pics are just adding to it.
