QUOTE]

Hey Orrey...when was your hike? I was hiking in Bastrop a few Sundays ago with a group and could swear I remember seeing your dog!:)

I posted these in the "Picture Thread" in Gadgets and Gear some time ago, but perhaps they might be appreciated here as well...

They were taken by me while canoeing up Moultrie Creek in St. Augustine.
Enjoy...

Here's some pictures of the piece of land I live on. You'll see our creek, part of an old train that derailed, and a couple of pictures of an old road which I believe stagecoaches used.

So you proposed on the hike? Congrats are in order! I thought that ring was getting a lot of exposure even before I read the line at the bottom.

For today: First is a view up Colby Creek, Kings Canyon NP

And a view of the Kaweahs from Colby Pass (the Kaweahs are in Sequoia NP, Colby Pass is on the boundary between Sequoia and Kings Canyon NP)

Mates playing with fire a couple of years back, Dharug National Park, NSW, Australia.

One of my favourite places in the whole world, Werrikimbe NP, NSW; Australia. It's a beautiful place and world heritage listed and happily very few people know about it.
The amount of birds you see around that camp ground alone is amazing.

A cheeky possum that paid us a visit one night at Wollemi NP, NSW, Aus.

Another one from Wollemi on the way home. Spent over a week there with some of my best friends.

One more from one of the valleys of Werrikimbe, a little stream running into the Wilson River set amongst gorgeous temperate rainforest.

DarkenRahl - Nice pictures, that is the part of Australia I would like to visit. But I wonder - should I change my name to Richard Cypher?

Today's pics - Gallats Lake, Sequoia NP

802SS on Fan.
The 802 did short work on the turkey breasting it. Got to LOVE the Buck Clip, well when not sharpening it anyway.
The blade is SOOO polished, there was no way I could not get a reflection up close.

Wow. That kind of countryside is so alien to my eyes. It's amazing.

Gloucester falls, Barrington Tops National Park, Aus. NYE '07/'08
There is a massive swimming hole further up the river and man was it welcome at the peak of the Australian Summer.

Mount Solitary, Blue Mountains NP.

Since moving to VA, I've barely had time to investigate the wilds, except for visiting beautiful Ground Zero in the Blue Ridge Mountains.

Since it was Memorial Day weekend, I happened to choose a park that has a history from both the Revolutionary and Civil Wars: Claude Moore Park in Sterling, VA. Here are some shots:

The park sits along the Vestal's Gap Road, which George Washington favored for travel through Northern VA:

Here's the road itself, much as it was back in the days of the Revolution:

Moving towards the ponds, and the trails and various shots around them:
