thank you Patrick, its a little jewel

Gorgeous! What are the scales?

I have been loving the pictures gang, really quality stuff here! I did a ton of camping/hiking as a kid/teen and am trying to get back into it. The wife is slowly coming on board, which is helping. I have been taking her on some short hikes to local areas here in TN, here are a few pics from recently. No good knife pictures for ya though, I'm rebuilding the collection (ownership was handed over to dad with the rest of the outdoor gear when I went to college unfortunately). I have a new wave and am looking to go from there. But enough out of me, here are the pictures. Enjoy!

The first few are from Chickasaw Trace Park here in TN. This is a little creek that feeds into the Duck River.

The Beagle is much more photogenic than me, plus she knows that when it comes out hamming it up is a good way to get attention :D

These next ones are from Cheeks Bend Bluff, another local WMA that we tried out for the first time the other day.

At one point the trail splits, and if you follow it you can go down to a cave that cuts back under the original trail and opens out with a view over the Duck River below. It was pretty cool to get to explore that. None of the pics really turned out though, just this one of the mouth of the cave.

I wish I didn't have to keep her on a leash when we go out like this, but she has too much hound in her, and will take off after game or scent trails and get herself lost.

Anyway, I know they don't compare to most of the other pictures, but I am enjoying this thread and thought I'd join in!

Take care.

Shore08, hola

Only too pleased to see any kind of contributions here from people actually doing it. I hope you get the chance to put up some more sometime. Cool.

NP guys, I had fun posting them! Thanks for the welcome. Wifey grew up near the Smokies, so next time we go visit her family I'm going to try and get her to go with me on a hike.

She looks like one happy pup! Thanks for the pics! :)

What's not to be happy about... fat, dumb, and happy, with my wife wrapped around her little paw. We should all lead a dog's life! :D

Almost stepped on this adder on a day hike yesterday... it was bathing in the autumn sun, probably still warming up since the previous night was pretty chilly. Didn't obviously like me too much, so I left him alone... no sense in killing it since we weren't close to any roads / paths.

Not a very good pic, I didn't care to go too close... these adders may seem slow when they're cold, but they still can attack pretty damn quickly.

Good call on distance... I treat snakes like radiological waste... distance, time, and shielding are your best protection :D

Cheers. Yeah, dude it's all software. I meddle with free stuff like Gimp through to CS3, and all sorts of odd bits in between.

Once again these are amazing!

Are the actual pics local or on vacation somewhere?
