The Old Rugged Victorinox Cross..... Pioneer content, grails and such.... Red Gold...

There is one up for auction on the bay right now

I saw that and was thinking of bidding on it. But for some reason the pioneer is really doing it for me. I may end up with the cadet as well though. Sometime... Thanks for looking out though!

Glassjaw, that one is tough to get. I learned about it from Alox World. That knife was made for the South African Market. At the time, I couldn't find any dealers who would ship outside of the country. A very nice fella gifted me two. One to collect and one to use. Feeling very lucky about the whole deal, I gave one away on here..... I gave the name, so searching for it will only lead you here.

Since all that transpired, I did find a dealer who changed their shipping policies and would ship internationally. I have not used them, but their website ends in .za instead of .com. They might have one.... they had other colors at one time too.

Since we are talking Alox, I figured I'd include the green Cadet.

I have been trying to contact some of the retailers to see if international shipping is available/ talking them into it. But have not yet received a reply. Thanks for the info sir. The quest is on! I blame you! Thank you!

Well, after reading the OP's post regarding South African vendors now shipping overseas, I have re-visited one site, and left an email regarding the purchase of 5 Alox Solo's...red, green, black, orange, and blue. The site states that one has to contact them regarding a overseas purchase so they can give a accurate shipping quote, and so I'm waiting with baited breath for a reasonable shipping quote, which I guestimate to be about $25.00 for 5 knives that weigh less than .75 lbs with packaging, as well as insurance; crossing fingers.

P.S. If all goes well, I'll go for 5 Pioneers in the same color scheme as my 2nd purchase.

Oh man this excites me! I have tried contacting a site as well but have yet to hear a reply.

I picked up this guy along with a bunch of its friends this weekend for $20.

It's a Victorinox, alox, elinox. It has damage on the main blade and awl but it's still nice.

Someone really did a number trying to sharpen this old cross Electrician with brass liners. I decided to try and re profile the blade a bit. Nothing drastic but it did but a nice point back on the tip. I tried sanding the blades to get the deep scratches out but they're too deep. I may end up sending this one in to Victorinox to see if they can replace the blade.
