The Para2

Schweet. The knife really is cool. It was my first real knife, or at the least the knife that started the obsession with knives.

I got mine and I'm very impressed. The action is as smooth as any Spydie I have. This is my first compression lock and I find it simple to disengage and close the knife one-handed. It's comfortable in my hand. The blade shape is practical. And a full flat grind. There's nothing I don't like about it.

Are you guys getting from the collectors' club, or are they in stock at dealers? I cant find any??

Just received the knife. It's my first Spyderco. It functions great out of the box. Fit and finish is very good but not excellent -- I have some discoloration on the jimping. The lock-up is excellent. Lock disengagement is good. Ergos seem excellent. And it's a very light knife for its size -- a good thing for EDC. Overall, seems to be a great knife.

The only question in my mind is how does it stack up in terms of wear and tear and abuse vs. my Umnum and SnG. Granted those knives cost essentially 4 times as much (but they are certainly not 4 times as good as the para 2). They all more or less are in the same category. (Don't get me wrong though, the design, fit and finish on the Umnum is crazy nice. Of all my knives, non-knife people gravitate to the Umnum and can see and feel why it costs so much.)

Because I wanted the knife ASAP, I ended up paying way more than the $108 listed at a certain online retailer, but for $108, I can't imagine getting a nicer knife.

No gettng away from this being a fine looking knife - even refined looking

But I am going to miss the hunched up, punchy, musclebound outline of the old Para :)

Been carrying my old para all this week moving house. It is a fine item

Just ordered one. I got the original when it first came out. Looks like the 2 makes several significant improvements. Can't wait! :D

+1 great review. I wasn't a fan of the Paramilitary, but I like the changes they've made. Looks like a nice middle ground between the old smaller Para and the bigger Military model.

anyone know where to buy this knife? all of the places i have seen have been out of stock or not there yet.

I like the Millie exactly the way it is.

It could use a beefier lockbar, but that's about it. Please leave the clip alone, this is the one knife that I like tip down. And no shiny clips either.

New Graham has a few in stock at this time. You have to search under "paramilitary" with no spaces between para and military to find them.

Well, I cancelled my Knife Center pre-order, and ordered one from NG.

I'm not sure why I pre-order. :)
