The Para2

Nope. :D

That picture is excellent, I've been looking for something like that. I would also very much appreciate a side by side comparison between the exposed comp. lock of the Para 2 and the one on the Para 1 as well. I'm very interested in exactly how they managed to even out the exposed tang corner of the original Paramilitary in the new model.

A picture like that would be really cool.

Ah, but this is a picture of a Paramilitary 1 isn't it?^ I see that now.

I took for granted that it was a picture of the Para 2. I guess if you haven't screwed the Para 2 apart yet, it's a little much to request that of you.

It would be extremely cool if someone did that in order to compare the two locks though.

I've read some complaints on the Spyderco forums about the locking "button" being too tight on the Para2. For example, people say that it is much tighter than the Para1 and it hurts their finger. I haven't seen any complaints in these forums. Does anyone else this experience?

I just wandered across this forum while looking for info about the Para2. Great info on here. Thanks for your help!

My para2's lock isn't overwhelmingly tight but i don't have an original paramilitary to compare it to.

I don't have the original Para to compare with my Para 2. I don't think the lock on the Para 2 is hard to disengage. For me it's less awkward than the Ball Lock.

Mine is alot tighter than my para 1s lock was...it does start to hurt your finger after a while

i received two para2's today. wow, they are beautiful knives and one will replace my ten year old delica edc. almost bought a para1, but the tip down carry was a nogo. luckily, i saw the threads of a new version coming out and ordered back in june.

anyway, a few quick observations: fits well in hand with nice grippy handles and cleanly flicks open. both blades are centered, have no horizontal play, and lock up tight. one is considerably easier to unlock than the other though. it is a little different as it has two logos together outside the thumbhole. the button to unlock is super smooth and is very nice. the other one has logos opposite each other on the thumbhole and is a bugger to unlock. i have to pinch it w/ thumb and finger (other was thumb only). hopefully, it will loosen up. also, it has a grind or step that passes the side of the thumbhole towards the top that is not complete on one side. not too worried about it as it will be a user.

will definitely get black clips as the reflection of the polished clip draws the eyes to the knife when on the pocket, so if anyone knows where to get black clips, please post a source. other than that, this looks to be a quality knife like my old delica and is a heck of a deal. thanks spyderco.

Did I say the Paramilitary 2 is a freaking awsome knife??
So just in case I didn't:

FREAKING AWSOME KNIFE

Long time probably. They anounced the first 2 sprints, carbon fiber and grey g-10, and that'll take us into next year probably.

I never bought a sprint run......how many do they usually make and is the price usually double or more?

Not sure about the rest of it, but after carefully looking at the Para my guess would be, it appears that the pivot was placed too far off center. This has been moved slightly more towards the center in the Para2.

The tang portion of the blade on the Para (between the stop pin and Spyderhole) was too long and the stop pin was placed far back to compensate. This combination (off center pivot, long tang, & stop pin placement) created the sharp corner.

How does the Para 2's handle feel when gripping it out of the choil? Does it feel comfortable like a Military or too small like the Para 1? That's the improvement I'm most excited about in this model, I just hope the lengthened that part of the handle enough for my hand to fit well.

Ditto. That's what I'm most excited about as well. The Para1 just didn't fit my hand. Military = just about perfect.

My para 2 is on the way. Coming this Thursday. Serisouly tempted to call in sick that day lol.

Just received mine today :D :D :D

Thoughts and pics later.

ETA: It's PERFECT. The handle is the absolutely just right. I already know it'll displace the Military in my pocket
