For what do we all "need Whatsapp?"

"Whatsapp" is owned by Meta (which also owns Facebook which I don't use either) which is an automatic NO WAY (and a HARD PASS) from me.

Privacy on "Whatsapp" is a joke when compared with Signal (free) or Threema (minor fee). How much info does Whatsapp share w/FB? No one knows and that's the problem.

So, anyone who communicates only via Whatsapp will never hear from me.

I agree but Ilya loves to put his new products there. It's the only reason I visit.

It was a joke aimed at Rufus1949 Rufus1949 and Bob Denman Bob Denman because they go back and forth so frequently.

IMO, every vendor should be aware that there is a certain segment of their prospective customer based that refuses to use certain social media sites like Whatsapp, Instagram, Facebook.

For this reason, I also think that every vendor should set up their own website to advertise/sell their products apart from social media sites that they may use for this purpose OR at least place their products in open marketplace sites like Etsy, eBay or Amzn if they don't want to go to the trouble of setting up their own website.

Vendors who do not do this risk losing sales to those (like me and others) who refuse to use the social media sites that they rely upon for advertising and sales.

I obviously didn't get the "joke" but I don't think using social media sites like Whatsapp is a joke.

It's a very serious matter if you take your online security and privacy seriously. IMO, there are far better options available than Whatsapp for selling your products and communicating with others.

End of rant. ;)

No rant IMO you are expressing your personal feelings. If others don't listen so be it,as on any thread on BF.
 
Just reread past thread...wow showing my 73 years. I did not know anything about whatsapp, so should not have responded at all. Sorry
Shows I don't really use social media. I consider BF instructional for me.
