Atoma 140 Diamond Stone for my Edge Pro. I plan on getting one before the Hammer arrives!
 
The 120 grit stone on my EP made short work of S90V. It's not as hard to sharpen as people make it out to be, given the proper tools of course. I will say that I much prefer a slightly toothy edge to it, rather than the mirror polish.
 
I haven't had the guts to try the EP 120 stone. My 220 and 400 stock EP stones were nothing short of horrible. I actually threw them away, and now I use Congress Tools Moldmasters (about $3ea!!!!) in 220 and 320 grits. These are SiC stones and wear very slowly and almost work to quickly for 1095's and the like. I used them on ZDP and had favorable results, but I still crave that Atoma 140, it's just so sexy.

Also, I am with you on the toothy edge bit for true super steels. My mid range steels like ELMAX and CPM D2 and S35VN and 154CM/VG10 and M390 get mirror edges usually. Stuff like CPM M4, and regular D2, and ZDP-189 all get an edge finished to about a 1k Chosera followed by a balsa wood strop with 0.5 compound. My ZDP Delica cuts like a bandsaw with this kind of edge.
 
I am patiently waiting by purchasing more gear. I dont need anymore knives!! This is like some kind of bad addiction! I sccored a badass Ti Wilkins Grip folder so now im building a mini to go along with it. I also just ordered that HTM sprint run from Knifecenter! Somewhere sometime this has to stop! lol

If you do try and resharpen the S90V version, give it a shot with the 320 grit. I sharpened p a Para2 with S90V and the results made me say, zOmG! Still insanly sharp, and it has a aint mirror finish. Very strange, but super nice to use.
I'll look into stropping my ZDP Stretch, it needs a touch up anyhow.

The mini Ritters are addictive alrigght. It could be worse though, they are somewhat reasonably priced for what they are.
 
Loving the Zt 561 I got in the mailbox yesterday, Hopefully I can hold off on more knives till this S90v Gunny is done, but I'm thinking of the Edgepro. so far s90v is my fav:thumbup: my s90v Para2 seems to cut forever so I assume this Gunny with Darrel's Ht will be even more outstanding:D Do you all think I should get the upraded Chosera package or go with the apex 4? I need to get my mind off this Gunhammer so I think mastering the Edge Pro might be a good way.
 
I think I heard someone say they talked to Ben Dale at Edge Pro and he said DONT use diamonds on super high wear resistance steels for some reason or another. I still cant wrap my head around this :eek: Has anybody else ever heard this or am I imagining things?

I spoke with Ben directly about his feelings about S90V and diamonds. His conclusion is that while the diamonds will certainly work, they won't last as long due to the bonding agent wearing out faster.
I also spoke with Mark at Chef Knives to go and he reccomends Shapton glass stones for S90V. Phil Wilson who probably knows as much as anyone about S90V from knife design to real world field use goes with silicone carbide I believe.
Can't wait to hear progress reports on our project.

I have sharpened my shirigirov model 95 S90 with diamonds and have not had a problem.It did take quite a while to get a burr but they worked great.

You heard right, Ben Dale is not a proponent of using diamonds. I don't have a ton of experience with them other than some cheapish diamond stones that came with a sharpener I bought a long time ago. I have the Chosera 400, 1k, 3k, 5k, and 10k. They are excellent stones and a real pleasure to use. They don't clog and cut faster than everything but diamonds. I would highly recommend them. I hear the same things said about the Shaptons but have never used them. You cannot go wrong with either set.

Well guys, I just spent 3 hours playing with my Galaxy Nexus. I unlocked the stock bootloader, and switched to Clockwork Mod Recovery, then rooted it. Then I switched to IMM76Q from IMM76K so I could switch to JRO03O. And then I lost root, which was the plan, but is always a bit depressing. Uh, layman terms: I switched my Galaxy Nexus from 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich to 4.1.1 Jelly Bean. 4.1.1 is absolutely incredible for a stock OS period. The new Google Search is basically a one-up to Apples Siri and it works much faster and is even sweeter. Anyways, that was my night. Good times.

This probably is of no interest, but I like to play with Android software so I thought I would share.

Android had all the features Siri had way before Apple came out with Siri. Apple just gave their version a catchy name. Android has had the same functionality since as long as I can remember. Actually, Siri didn't even start as an app from Apple. Apple bought the program from another company in 2010. Android had this functionality natively.

That's all true, but when Apple applied for the patent Google was forced to stop selling the Galaxy Nexus until they could dumb it down, which they have. IMM76Q is the dumbed down version which lacks almost any useful voice commands. The new version has completely brought it back and improved it far beyond what it has ever been in the past. I have used the previous versions quite a lot and they don't even come close to the new one.

Also, the new Project Butter programming runs 4.1.1 at a solid 60fps in every app and menu. There is not a faster or smoother UI on any phone I have used including the new Galaxy S III.

Wait until you get Jelly Bean. It's a pretty significant change, around 147mb worth of changes. I have been playing with it all day. I may root again later this week and see how hard I can push it. I have had some bugs with Tapatalk 2, but nothing too significant. I may also pick up a Nexus 7 tablet later this week. Also, the new radios included in Jelly Bean are excellent. I have gained a good bit on download and upload but I don't have enough info to state a real claim yet.

I heard a bit about that also. I'll pass on the 3g service. I have unlimited data on my phone so I may just do a wi-fi tether. The best thing about the Nexus 7 right now is it's price, so adding any more expense to it takes away some of the pleasure of a good, cheap tablet. And most of the places I spend my time have wi-fi coverage anyways so my only loss is on the road, hence the tethering. I use Clockwork Mod Tether (no root needed). I am still on the "trial" which is 14 so I will probably buy the ~$5 version here soon.

Ok since you are talking Android... what app do you use to tether your phone to a wifi only tablet?
