The Patiently Waiting for the S90V Gunhammer Thread

I know this is a bit strange as far as questions go, but how do you take screen shots on a Droid phone? I have the Incdible 2. I was reformatting my SD card yesterday because I keep getting that error message saying the card is not mounted properly. I noticed as I was backing up, I had a few screen shots. Weird.

I haven't tweaked my phone at all yet.

I have not used an Incredible 2 but most phones are hold volume down plus the power button simultaneously. But I don't believe you phone has the capability stock. Maybe someone else can chime in.

ETA: Nevermind, the latest software upgrade allows for screenshots by holding the power button and tapping the home button from what I read below. Learning new things everyday. I never had a phone with 2.3.5 or whatever it is, so I am a bit out of the loop.

Ok since you are talking Android... what app do you use to tether your phone to a wifi only tablet?

I use Clockwork Mod Tether. Its a wireless tether and you tether it to your phone. I have used a tethering set up on a Toshiba Thrive in the past. Both the phone and tablet were rooted in that case, though.

The Clockwork Mod Tether application does not require root on the phones end but I haven't looked in the tablet side yet. It may require root access but isn't too difficult to get if necessary.

Excellent, thanks. This will come in handy for work. I'm interested in trying to tweak my phone a bit, but I really need to read the droidforums a bit more to learn morea about it.

Best advice I have: Read everything in-depth that you can find. Make sure you are following the steps for the exact version of Android that you have (ie 2.3.5-this is where a ton of stuff goes wrong). Take your time. Oh yeah, have fun. If it takes 3 hours, it takes 3 hours. Make the best of it. One last thing, no matter what problem you have, 100 people before you have had the exact same problem and people have already figured out how to solve it and posted it somewhere on the internet.

Let us know if you get to playing around and find some cool stuff. There is so much more to Android than stock programs. Like BFC, the Android community is very close knit and most guys will go out of their way to talk you through on the phone if it's needed. It's an incredible community.

New idea! Non flipper Gun Hammers can be called "Strikers" like striker fired pistol. Genius.

Also, I bought this guy last night, should be here soon. Socom Elite with CTS-204P (M390 Equiv.).

yeah I bought a microtech socom delta last week and thus far I think that it is great. Really impressed with the F&F as well as the detail work on the machining.

I picked up an Ultratech with the CTS-204P blade too. :)

Well???? How does she cut? I heard their 20CV was an absolute monster of a steel so I figured CTS-204P could only be better due to experience on their part and maybe even a better heat treat. I think mine may be here tomorrow so I will post up results when I get a chance. I plan on mine being a full blown EDC/User and I may do a lot of whittling with it to take advantage of that great blade geometry. I am curious if the Select Fire has an even thinner edge than the Socom Elite. But, I like the blade/handle ratio of the Socom a bit better than the Select Fire. I know the Select Fire is discontinued but I may try to pick one up in S35VN if I love my Socom a lot (which I am guessing I will).

I am really like a knife with a good, thin edge aka good edge geometry. I hope the Gunhammer has a nice thin edge, but even if it's not a super thin grind I cannot imagine DDR would make it too thick. I will try and do a test between my CTS-204P Socom Elite and the stupid cool CPM S90V Gunhammer when we get them.

Honestly, I haven't used it. Folks at work freak out a bit. I was impressed by the out of the box sharpness. Ys, usually 20CV is a really good steel when treated to it's potential. Probably one of my favorite steels. I'd love a GH in 20CV. ;)

Got a Trigger Maze heading my way. It will be my 4th DDR, with the forum knife the 5th when it arrives. I'm supremely excited--a custom DDR!

This sub forum is so eerily empty that I actually un holstered my pistol before I came in.

That's prob because there won't be any news til Darrel's done setting up his shop. I've been meaning to call him, but keep getting side tracked with applications and things. I'll give him a call and see what's up tomorrow and to pester him to message Spark to relieve me of mod-hood.

Maybe we need a random chat thread. Got my trigger maze in. It's a sweet knife, but nearly impossible to get open with just the flipper. If I use wrist english or gravity, it works fine, but the flipper doesn't seem to work. So far, neither it nor the 560 have a shot at unseating the Gunny.

Try adjusting the pivot? On every flipper I've owned, I've had to fiddle with the pivot to hit the sweet spot.
