The return to SNARKdom

Did you use the ax to break down the pallets? Cause that would be a fairly epic video shoot. The donuts are fun, what kind of forklift you use? I used to have a shelf set up that I could sleep on when I was looking to kill time. Had a sleeping bag and everything up there. It was quite lovely.

What's everyone got planned for the weekend? I'm personally killing time, hoping this is the last weekend I need to be on oxygen. Especially cause if everything goes according to plans next weekend I'll be in the woods.

Mmm catching up on snark.

This weekend is another episode of daddy daycare! hoping the weather is nice, maybe take the kids out for a walk in the back forest

It's raining here, I sat out on the front porch for a while last night while it was raining pretty good. It was nice way to relax. If there was an awning on the rear porch I would have sat there and tried to throw a fire in the fire pit however no such luck so front porch it was.

Boo rain. I just checked the weather report here. I'll get it the next two days :thumbdn: Looks like I need to find some indoor activities for us :(

Work tonight after u get some sleep and fishing Sunday. There's also a possibility of more boat trailer painting on Sunday if I feel ambitious (probably not).

Well I got to reaffirm my hatred of foxes and the like last night. My uncle lives about half a mile down the road bordering our farm.. Got a call from him last night saying that 8 of his 9 ducks were killed, and 6 of them had been carried off without a trace, so we drove down there to look around. Found a lot of tracks and determined it was foxes, and his girlfriend had seen a couple sets of eyes behind their house towards the mountain and saw they were foxes. Looked around for the missing ducks, no sign of them, but just as we were leaving I heard foxes screaming right down the road maybe a quarter of a mile away. We ran down and managed to get a shot off at a couple of them but it was dark so we couldn't get a great shot and they were a bit far away for the guns we had. My uncle sat out and watched for them to come back, but he fell asleep sometime and when he woke up they had come back and taken the other two dead ducks.

That's probably going to be a wall of text but I'm on a crappy tablet so I can't help it.

So I was sitting downstairs folding laundry a little while ago, staring out the sliding glass door at the woods and listening to the Gabe Dixon Band.....and I catch some movement in one of the trees and see a bushy tail disappearing and settling into the crotch of this tree about 25' up. I grab my binocs and take a look; there's a raccoon parked up there, and I see a bird flitting around, looking like it's pecking the 'coon. I went and got the good camera....turns out the bird was a female cardinal, and she was picking fur off the back of this napping raccoon. Took a bunch of pics and went to get the video cam. Waiting for the cardinal to come back so I can get some footage. Damndest thing. I have seen raccoons in my backyard, but never in the daylight. I figure it'll be up there for a while - at least until I fell the tree that's broken in half with a widowmaker snagged in a tree about 20' away from where it's napping. But that won't be until later. Now, I gotta go back to folding and waiting for the cardinal to come back. at least it's warmed up enough to have the door open - with the screen closed, of course; otherwise I'd have squirrels in here, probably. I'll post up some pics later.

You're letting that thing sleep up there GSOM? you got a perfect fat target for your bow right there :P let her fly!

And then what would I do with it? It ain't hurting no nobody, and the cardinal's picking out all the good fur ;). Plus, I ain't eating that thing (have you seen what those things eat?) - so I ain't killin' it.
Also, it doesn't seem right to shoot a sleeping animal......and the way it's blocked by all the tree branches, I'd more than likely just ruin an arrow or two before he skedaddled.

Boat trailer painting, now that is a gallant gesture. :p
I worked on a painted trailer recently, I had to recommend the owner consider saving his brake work money for a new trailer. Little runabout ski boat was clean, but the trailer had more rusty holes than metal underneath.

We had a nice, soft rain overnight, always welcome here!

4 days ago I mowed my lawn on a beautiful sunny day. Yesterday I got enough snow I had to shovel my sidewalks. Snowing again today. Just stop already mother nature.

Lol. This trailer is pretty solid still and it's from the 70's. Well the frame part is solid and now so is the suspension. I ended up putting new everything from the spring hangers down on it last fall. With as much as we put in it, we probably could have just went new for not a whole lot more. I figured fresh paint might prolong it's life for another 10 or 15 years.

I went to Eeyore 's Birthday Party celebration in Pease Park in Austin. Cooked 500+ hambergers for a fund raising there. Lot of weied music and weirder people. Some were dressed up, some were half nekkid, many were drunk. Flirted with a bunch of really good looking women who were 1/3 my age.:D:rolleyes: Got 3 phone numbers, too. :D :D
