Beautiful area warrior!!

I came back from my weekend trip to find a couple of my tomato plants doubled in size, corn shot up quite a bit more as well, and bell peppers are damn near ready to be ate.

But there is so much oak pollen everywhere. Picnic tables, decks, the ground... Everything covered in pollen...

Time to burn it all and start from scratch. Pollen I swear is from the fiery depths of hell. Like down there with child molesters and people who talk during movies pits of hell!


Dubz, you had a helluva weekend to be down there. It was weird, absolutely gorgeous during the day, and shitty at night, then beautiful during the day again!

Sure was man. Like I said, it was pretty much nice all the way down there, but cloudy and rainy looking at our destination. Got there, unloaded the truck, and two minutes later it started raining. Unpacked, and hung out on the porch, drinking a few rum and cokes, and having a smoke. Rained that night, and slept like a baby under the metal roof. Freaking gorgeous out Saturday. We had a fire that night, I was feeling no pain with the Maker's Mark. It started raining around 10. Got back on the porch for a spell, and decided to go to bed. Rained hard Saturday night, and early morning, but was beautiful again today. We hated leaving, it was so nice out.

On a side note, I'm looking into getting a tractor with a front end loader. Would sure come in handy at the cabin.

Tomorrow I have to get up at 5:30am and go to a day of refresher training for work but I'm still wheezing and snotting on myself. Gonna try and bail on it and make it up latter.

I've had a cough and hacking crap out of my lungs for over 3 weeks now. Sucks.
 
Well, I've just been "microsofted". I have been refusing to "upgrade" to Windows 10 since they started pushing it to be upgraded. I was sitting here perusing threads in the forum and I noticed that things were running a little slow, but since I'm in a rural location and out internet service options are limited, we have what we have and have to put up with shitty connections all the time.

All of a sudden my system threw up this nasty screen that said

"DO NOT TURN OFF YOUR PC. WINDOWS 10 UPGRADE IN PROGRESS."

What the hell? I never told anyone or anything to "upgrade" to 10. Now 2 hours later, it finally lets me use my computer again. EVERYTHING seems to be running really slow when perusing the internet.

Not a real happy camper right about now.

Is there still a roll-back option? The oldest son was convinced that we just HAD TO HAVE Win 10 days after it came out. I tried to talk him into waiting until it get patched a few times, but he's young and knows everything, so he was persistent until he actually had it on there and saw them old man was right. Win 10 lasted for about 2 days until he couldn't put up with the bugs anymore and rolled back to Win 7. I suspect that in a few more months the itch will get him again now that it's had a while to be worked on, but I'm not sure.

I totally agree. I get that blooming is necessary for pollination, but I wish it wasn't. Spring may be pretty, but I basically hate everything that blooms.

I've only had it since Thursday and I'm about over it. Lots of rest and fluids. One time I had a bacterial respiratory infection that hung on for two weeks because I wouldn't stay in bed. Finally had to get a script for antibiotics to shake it.

Just coincidence. I have so many photos from this same relative position. That's the view from sitting on the porch.

I always try to go the distance without antibiotics, but I may have to yet.

I had bronchitis once and the doctor said the best thing was to stay in bed and sleep. She said she knew people like me weren't good about that, but she said she could solve that issue. And she did. The dreams from the codeine were amazing. I can see how you can get addicted to that stuff.


And you get better as well Dubz. Too many sick Beckerheads here lately.
 
Woke up this afternoon and texted my fishing buddy and told him let's go!! He ended up having to work today and had stuff come up that he had to do tonight, so he was a no go. A couple other friends couldn't go either. I didn't really want to go alone today, but after I sat around for a while I said to hell with it, loaded up, and headed out.

I ended up getting a handful of pike and a couple nice walleye. The biggest walleye was a bit over 22" and about 4lbs.

NICE!!

It is nice to have company sometimes, but going fishing is one thing i can do by myself HAPPILY!!

Only caught a couple "little" catfish this weekend, around a foot long each, and a couple bream/panfish....Had the kids, so did way more playing than fishing though. Wife caught a pretty big turtle, got it on to the beach and then it broke the line and took off... PISSED!! LOL

I fish a lot by myself. My schedule is so messed up that its hard to line it up with other peoples schedules. Its definitely nice to have some company once in a while. I did end up having fun and am glad I went out. Sound like you had a good time with the wife and kiddos. Were you going to eat the turtle if she had landed it?
 
I'm wondering if anyone has seen some specific "d-rings" I'm looking for. I had NixKustoms make me a few danglers for some sheaths and figured I would source the d-rings myself. A few sheaths I have, have 1" belt loops, but a couple have 1.25-1.5" belt loops. I found some d-rings that have a pin that is removeable, so they can be easily taken on and off, but could only find them up to 1" wide. I'd like to find some that are at least 1.25", so I could use the danglers on the other sheaths.

Here are the danglers on a couple sheaths. I've worn them around a bit and they sure are nice and comfortable to use. A lot of the time when I just have the knife in a sheath on my belt, the knife gets in the way when I sit down or get in a vehicle, or ends up poking me. With the dangler they are out of the way and I don't get poked anymore.



 
No i would of released it. I have ate turtle a few times and liked it, but had no intentions of eating this one. We released everything this weekend except a few minnows the kids made me catch...

Brought them home as "pets" and put them in a tank. See how long they last i guess...


I also enjoy the company fishing, but most people work and i can't wait for weekends... Hell i fish at least 3 times a week and sometimes everyday during the week for an hour or 2.

I drop the kids at school and a 10 minute drive puts me at my favorite creek... It's hard not to go :D

But today i have to run trash to the dump, hit up gnome depot for a rivet gun, mail a box off, and wash the truck before getting the kids from school... 2moro I'll be at the creek though!

I let everything go yesterday too. The pike were smaller than I like to keep and the one walleye was too big to keep. The smaller 18" walleye was in the range I would normally keep, but he got a free pass. If I catch it again in a month, it will be a different story!! I could probably fish darn near every day when its nice enough outside to fish, but that would start to get a bit excessive, if there is such a thing when talking about fishing :p

On a side note. My neighbors have dogs that they don't do a damn thing with. 2 pups just sit outside at least half of the day tied to bricks. They also bark the whole time. Sometimes they just open the door and kick the dogs out to roam free. I've caught them digging in my garbage a few times and made the neighbors come pick it up and I know other neighbors have had their garbage torn up and called the dog catcher a few times. Saturday night when I wasn't home, Misti was outside with Lucky, letting her do her business, and another dog from the same neighbors came and almost attacked Lucky. I'm really getting tired of their crap. I don't even understand the point of having a dog, if they aren't going to do anything with them.
 
Yea that's messed up. I feel bad for the dogs with owners like that. We got a big dog that wonders into our yard once in a while but doesn't cause any harm so i don't complain, but soon as he gets into trash or even barks... Just one bark at the kids would have me at the owners house in a not so polite manner. Fast.

I love dogs... Humans can royally suck.
