I believe Kasting is still in business. The “Third” only died last year.


Thanks Lyle, been looking for an old one in stag and was happy to add this one with some history. I saw the obit for the "Third", the seller of of the knife claimed it came out of an estate, I wonder if it was his estate.
 
Augie Augie The Henckels has everything I like about a vintage used knife: quality from the start, decent overall wear but it's been well liked and indeed probably honoured by previous owners so that it has charm and dignity. I'm no fan of rusted hollowed out hulks as objects of uncritical worship :D
