The " Roosters " are crowing for the " Farmers"

I made my wife a big desk out of hard maple, it’s only a year old and this is just one corner because it was full of work stuff🍁

I love the maple covers on the TKCs, as a Vermonter maple is very close to my heart, for the beauty of the foliage, as an excellent building material, one of the best firewoods, and syrup of course! Sugar season is coming up quick!

Beat up by kids and grandkids, but going strong!! 😁

TKC SFO!!! A wonderful and useful tool - I had to have this knife!! I made our dining room table out of Canadian Maple when my oldest was about 3 1/2 years old!! She's now going on 52!!! We still use that table every day!! What wonderful family wood!!View attachment 2774007View attachment 2774008This Knife was made in the USA (Pennsylvania), but is a real tribute to Canada!
Canada is a land of Maple trees and Maple Syrup! The Maple Leaf is front and center on our national flag!!
Check it out Lyle @wlfryjr

These have that chatoyance Charlie, does your table?

I think GEC did an excellent job on these David.

Something just did not feel right to me on the new run of 38 Farmers jacks and I finally had the time to grab one from the original run and the size differance is striking. The new run is over 1/10th of an inch thinner. The knife just feels less substantial than the one from the first run and the first run has much better action also. Wonder why GEC changed it, the first run was about perfect.

Have now made it all the way through this thread -- thanks Lyle wlfryjr wlfryjr for hosting this treasure trove! 🙂 👍

Here are two new arrivals from Titusville Cutlery. They have a substantial feel, and I like the fact that the secondary blade gives a healthy nod to the "rooster comb." Decided to pick one up in green maple burl, and also in the cocobolo shadow pattern, which I think suits this style of knife nicely...

Some top arrivals there Jim, both bolstered and Shadow. That Green Maple Burl is really something , have to say it out performs the latest GEC Maple in my opinion. Some of which looks strangely lacklustre to my eye. I'm hoping to get an Acrylic and also what Lyle enigmatically calls the best till last.....:)

Thanks, Will

Thanks for showing all your beautiful FJ's, I'm still on the hunt for one.
Anybody else is a little disappointed with the action, like Augie wrote in his post above? How would you rate the pull on your current GEC's?

Mine improved quite a bit with a good oiling, almost the same as the original run now.
