I wasnt gonna say a whole lot about it, but I pretty excited about next week, im gonna build on to my home shop. I looked at some other buildings, wasn't really what I'd call a financially sound decision at this time. I have free commercial space now at my buddies truck shop, but turns out when im out there I cant work undisturbed, always someone tapping on my shoulder. So, T.M.Hunt custom knives will be moving back home where it started. With the addition of a brand new bigger and better grinding room built on to the back. Breaking ground next week. Erik (1066Vik) Jerry D. and Murph will be allong for the ride swinging hammers and swiggin beers. It ought to be pretty cool. I'll probably have a thread on my subforum about it.

That's awesome, Todd. If I had the time to take off, I'd be there helping. I hope you made room for a forge and an anvil in your new addition...

This exactly ;) I dont exactly need another folder. I rarely use my 0700 any more. I don't even rotate anymore because I like my edc so much.

As far as needs go on the other hand :D I need an RBK, and after that my next acquisitions will be hand made.
 
Weekend #2 where the weather gods have decided that it needs to be cold rather than warm. I'm displeased at this. I need to get outside.

Thanks. As far as the forging area. Its in the works. but dont know if it gonna be in this phase of construction or not. Only have so much $$$.

Actually, there's more difference in the two states than most think regardless of there close proximity. Tennessee's weather is milder. That allows for some species of animals to live that we don't have in Indiana. For example, we don't have bears or scorpions. There's several plant species each state has that the other doesn't. A lot of freakin corn fields here and flatter ground. Actually, if all my friends and family wasn't around here. Id move to Tennessee in a heartbeat.
 
What's everybody getting into today? We just got back from the grocery store on a supply run for easter dinner. She is about to start preparing it... Somehow my wife was able to finagle a way that we don't have to travel anywhere this easter.... The catch? Her family and my family will be convening in our one bedroom apartment tomorrow.
On celebrating the little victories though: I found some Jolly Rancher jelly beans..... Finally.

Soooo......shake your fist at the weather gods and go outside anyway. It's not like you have to stay out. One thing living through 5+ decades of winter has taught me: you'll be a lot saner come spring if you just dress appropriately and get out during the winter. Best SADD therapy there is, if you ask me. Cabin fever is avoidable, if'n ya jest leave yer cabin.

Now.....don't post anything here for a few hours. and get some pics while you're at it.

Todd, two questions...
Is the shop expansion going to include a kegerator? If not, when are you putting in a full size fridge?
 
Mmmmm plans to the day you say? Easter dinner at the in-laws. Drinking rum while there. Maybe sneeking a nap while doing said drinking.

Tomorrow, Grandmothers 81st birthday and Easter sinner with my family :D

Lol, the expansion will NOT include a kegerator unfortunately, nor will it house a full sized fridge. As much as I enjoy partaking in adult beverages. Im trying my hardest to be a little more disciplined about doing it during what some people would consider working hours. Lol. dont get me wrong. Ill still enjoy a good brew in the shop. But I've made some rules about it no that this my profession. I do not drink any alcohol on days I do my grinding. For obvious safety reasons of coarse but also because grinding takes concentration and a clear mind.
I don't drink much when I'm cutting out blanks on the bandsaw again for obvious reasons.

I think there may be a little misconception about me in the shop. Lol. Im not a falling down drunk while I have my face and hands in equipment that can rip them off. I do tend to enjoy my drinks. But I tend to try not to kill myself in the mix! :D

Hell you've been here several times. Other than the time I started a fire in the floor of the shop with a emberlite you cant say ive been to out of control lol. :D

Haha - I'll vouch for you, Todd. Everybody, he does have all 10 fingers.... And yea, what ive seen when hanging around the shop with a few growlers is just that. Work has generally ceased with the exception of maybe stitching a sheath ot two. Using the shop as a dual purpose area as a workshop that converts to club house.... But damn, the tiny fridge is..... Tiny.

Indeed the fridge is tiny, but it keeps my beer cold. Piss on the rest of you! Lol. :D

Any beer fridge of your own is better than having to share space in the family fridge. Now that the warmer weather is here and the garage won't keep mine cold much longer, Imma start getting shit about how much room it's taking up in the fridge. Maybe I should look on CL and get myself a little one.

Well, we've been going to Ocracoke island the past few years. You ain't seen nothin til you've seen precious little girls hunting eggs on the beach at Teach's (Blackbeard) Hole in Shorts and T-shirts early April.

That was last year. Now she's 12 goin on 18 and "too old to hunt eggs", she says. So we're chillin at the house this weekend, no inlaws or nothing. Got a ham for tomorrow and just takin it easy.
However, I got a few things cookin... Literally...
Topped off my bacon grease jar this morn...

Got some fresh eggs boiled up and ready for pickling!

This one didnt make it to the pickling batch as ordered from the princess in tha house...was good eatin hah..

Got a couple dozen ready for jars. Hope some will make it to the gathering. My girls are puttin out eggs like crazy!
Mmmm, left over margaritas for breakfast haha!

Congrats on the expansion Todd.

Today my son placed a tin jar next to me and giggled as he walked away. Turns out he tried to trap a fart in it. Sometimes they just make you proud.

They just opened a Harbor Freight 2 min's from my house. Uh oh.
