Going to pick up my Chile Forge "Habanero" today. Will finally have the blacksmith shop up and running with gas and coal forges. Been four years since we moved here and I haven't had the time to devote to getting everything set up. Looking forward to it big time.

That sounds like an ideal day. Been living here for 10+ years and still haven't set up a decent shop. *heavy sigh*

Have fun, trade. Looking forward to the pics.

We have remote starters for our vehicles. Almost necessary for how cold it gets up here :(

As I was typing that bit up, I noticed your location again and realized, "Yeah... he probably already knows about those :D"

I briefly looked into a heated floor system for my shop in WI... pretty sweet. Wasn't in the budget, though - not by a long shot. One of the sweet things about living/working here in East TN is just not having to deal with that kind of cold.

The one thing I loved about having that kind of base, was there is a db base frequency that actually stimulates ladyparts ..lol.
I used to have lots of fun.

You wanna stimulate some ladies, forget all about that macho sh!t and learn how to play guitar ;)

There is definitely something to be said for literally feeling the bass-line and kick drum rattle your guts and spine, and standing in front of a guitar stack and actually feeling the breeze from every note as I played it. That's honestly one of the things I miss most about playing live... and you can't really describe it to someone who's never experienced it. Living that for a few years kind of takes the thrill out of listening to a stereo, no matter how kick-ass it is...

I never did manage to produce the elusive "brown note" though.... :D

Anyone else watching Fargo the TV series? WOW!

Yup, Ang and I both enjoy it. Damn impressive writing and performances. Much like True Detective, we're saving the episodes on our DVR so when it's all done we can watch them in a marathon and catch all the stuff we missed.

From 2-3 a.m., in central Illinois, the meteor shower was a celestial dud. I did see 2 satellites, but I wanted to see meteors. Enough of this BS, g'night gents.
It was a dud here too... Not really sure what it was supposed to look like but I'm pretty sure it wasn't that. I'm guessing around here we just had too much light pollution.

That is very cool! What stuff do you forge?

Downtown Chicago, in the loop, financial district they have heated sidewalks so they don't have to have ice and snow on them in the winter. That is the only place though that I know of in Chicago that has it.

According to Mythbusters the "Brown note" is busted. However they didn't test it on a drunk subject which I personally believed played a large part of it.

That sounds pretty awesome, Trade.
THIS! That is awesome Trade. Can't wait to see what stuff you make.

A guy walking down the road last night around 3-4AM asked me what i was doing and i told im looking for meteors because there is suppose to be a lot of meteors flying through the sky tonight.

He said "well I dont know about that, but i know there is a lot bullets flying through the sky tonight.

This morning i checked the breaking news. A local man was shot several times in the face and body.

If thats not enough a 16 year old killed a cab driver as well because the driver wouldnt take a shortcut. The reporters asked him if being ripped off was worth killing... He said "to me it is"

This city is HELL.

Went out on the roof for a bit, didn't see much of anything. Pulled up an app on my phone called google sky maps and just browsed around. Learned about a new constellation, don't know if I'll be able to find it regularly, but Cassiopeia is a pretty easy one to find. Just 5 fairly bright stars in a "W" shape.

The best part about that app is looking DOWN.
SO COOL to look through the earth to see the southern sky. It was the first thing I did, and has been a fav of mine for several years. :-)

I concur. I have seen people on way too much acid/booze/other drugs barf or crap themselves at concerts and blame it on the bass... but I never saw a sober person do it.

Regardless, it's still a whole lot of fun to slam an open chord and watch people actually lean back from the impact :D

In other news, I have decided to use only my new BK-16 all weekend long and take a few pics along the way. Thanks Ethan and Ka-Bar! :)

I've been out fossil hunting today. Finally, after quite a while. Lot's of work. Lot's of sand in all my bodily cavities because of the wind and not a whole lot of loot. Mostly broken shark teeth and whale bones. Maybe there's something decent in the fraction that went through my 5mm mesh. A day out is never lost though, even though it's been quite a while since I got a good haul.

Tomorrow it's voting time here in Belgium. Curious to the results. Gonna be exciting though, because the political landscape is changing quite a bit.

I'm trying to shuffle them up a little, so they don't sit and get all dusty. Celtic 9 after a little workout. right through branches 3/4" diameter.

What's up guys!! How's everybody doing this weekend? I did some yard work now I'm folding clothes and watching JFK: The smoking gun on Netflix.

Thats pretty awesome. What are you powering it with?

I seen a youtube video earlier of one and read this quote in the comments

"At the listening position I can measure reference levels (100+ db) down to ~15hz with zero signs of strain. F3 is at roughly 12hz. In the 16hz hot spot over in one corner of the room I can measure up over 120db and I can feel the walls flexing. It's rather insane"

Im interested :D

it's self powered, built in amp. i'm using it set up as a cross-over from 40-50Hz on the two big front speakers, and the surrounds ... the receiver is just some mid 700s level Onkyo, nothing special, or expensive. these days, you don't need it.

i can crank the psy-goa, and go outside, the the house is just thrumming :D

I expect nothing less than pure 100% awesomeness coming out that shop.

Had a water fight with the kids in the back yard :) They both just KO'd for a nap lol. I think I could use one too!
