Actually the only "fatty" part was the pork sausage and the bacon... the ground chuck was lean, the veal is lean... The fries when fried correctly do not take on a lot of fat, and the asparagus was grilled (and oh so yummy!)
 
Speaking of grilled asparagus, how do you recommend seasoning asparagus to be grilled Cbear? I watched a few youtube videos and it seems like olive oil, salt, and pepper should do?

Ok, so I opened the package and found these. Guess we'll have to wear them at Blade along with our Beckerhead tees - what a burden.

And finally, I opened up an envelope and saw these two passes to Blade. Many thanks go out to Todd Hunt for getting us these passes. Can't wait to see everyone in Atlanta! BTW, that's Triggs' Magua. She uses it daily in the kitchen as her go-to paring knife. Love the natural patina.

Thanks guys. I've only ever had pickled asparagus, so this will be something new. I'm trying to find healthier things that I like.
 
Speaking of cooking... I love me some hard boiled eggs, its my favorite way to eat eggs.. Hard boiled with Lawry's salt.... But I learned how to make perfect hard boiled eggs last night and the shells come off so EASY, thanks to youtube.

I was craving some eggs around 3-4am and looked up how long to boil them for and then seen a video so i watched it. And it worked perfectly. Basically boil for 13 minutes and then rapidly cool with ice water, then i put them in the freezer for about 10-15 minutes... the freezer part wasnt on the video but i added that to cool them down even more.

The shells came off in 1 piece on all 4 eggs with ease.

Now im a chef.

Hard boiled eggs with seasoned salt are only second on my list after Deviled Eggs and followed very closely by fried eggs over medium.
 
I friggen LOVE deviled eggs. The ones my mom make are my favorite, but my girlfriends are decent too.

I guess I'm not going to grill asparagus. My gf was supposed to grab some at the store when she was there, but I guess they didn't have any. I'll have to try later this week.

actually, prolly the worst part of fries for you is the potatoes. they turn right to sugar in digestion.

blanched, then chilled in ice water. drizzle with vinaigrette.

In the quest to stop breaking my work knife using it as a screwdriver, I settled on this



Its a knife and a screwdriver, and holds 4 bits as well. I had one before that I gave to a guy who worked for me, because he was a good guy. Then I apparently just forgot they existed ..lol
