On a different note, they are diamond stones so they should take off metal faster. Oh well.
I have a 1200# diamond stone and that does take quite a bit of metal off.
I just recommend tkaing your time, use light pressure, and spend time on it.
I'd spend around 2-3 hours on a blade depeneding on how dull it was with my 800-5000# stones.

I've worn sandals and I love the fact that they drain and breath so well, but weighing what I do and 25 years of working on concrete floors means I need a bit more support if I'm going to be on my feet for any length of time. I'm still looking for a pair of hiking/combat boots that's lightweight and breathable but doesn't cost a million dollars...

Croc haters.

I admit that my bias against them is based on nothing more than that I think they look stupid, and your points in favor of them do make a great deal of sense. But it's just so easy to make fun of them! :D

Perhaps I will broaden my horizons and try out a pair of crocs this summer... right after I subscribe to Southern Living magazine and learn how to make gazpacho with an endive salad while sipping herbal tea and discussing the finer points of flower arrangement. :p

That's how I feel, they look silly.
I am a funtion over looks guy but I just can't see my self to wear a pair.
Plus I just like to bust peoples jimmies :P.

Haha, it's true though!
That's why I got the worksharp and I'll never look back, the consistancy and accuracy is just amazing.
However I still use stones out in the woods.

Havent spent much time free hand sharpening.... But since my brain injury my hands shake... Its not REAL bad but noticeable, and almost constant. So if i spend any amount of time trying to do something needing consistency I start to get aggravated because the harder i try and keep my hands steady the more i notice the shaking.

Actually someone, cant remember who now, commented on my hands shaking in one of my videos, but i think they just thought it was because i was drunk... I wish that was the case LOL

It makes it difficult sometime when im practice cutting as well, but i just keep on practicing.

With your pinky on the air and hair in pig tails... Actually that would make a great photo LMAO

I'm sorry to hear that worlwood, that would be a huge pain in the rear.
Guides could a help a lot I would think but I'm not in that position.
I have 32 stitches in my left thumb and suffeered a broken distil radius but hasn't effected me too much.
Well maybe if you were drunk you might be more stable lol!
However it's good that you keep practicing, never give up man.
Just like Waco the kid in Blazing Saddles, a shaky hand doesn't mean much! LOL

Right on. I continue to be amazed at my friends who spend hours getting the very perfectest atom-splitting edge, and claim to enjoy the process... I assure you, when you do this stuff for a living, that thrill wears off real quick.

Lately I've been setting my edges with an A45 belt, followed by an A30 belt, followed by a 9-micron belt and a bit of light stropping. Takes about 10 minutes, and nearly half of that time is just farting around feeling the edge/burr and changing belts. The edges I get that way slice cleanly and shave hair... ask worldwood, he seemed to like what I did to his necker a few weeks ago. ;)

I'm totally with you on that.

Gotta be careful about teasing Guyon, though... he's one of those sneaky cats who remembers all the ball-busting... doesn't say a whole lot at the time... and then much later when you least expect it, he'll come out of nowhere with a lightning-bolt zinger. :D

Like my new puuuuurty non tanto SOG Trident, I'm in love with this machine.
Also, I love to have zingers thrown at me, there's no fun in life unless you're making fun of and being made fun of! :D
I enjoy it because I put effort and my time and skill into a blade, HOWEVER once I start making knives that's where the real joy will come from!

Wow that's some serious stuff dude, and hey all that matters if your happy doing what you do, oh...and that you have a BK9. A life cannot be complete without that.

You'll be the Waco Kid of knives, cuts faster than you can blink LOL

I have been though 3 nines now. I gave one away, sold the other 2 to get something else... Cant remember what now though LMAO

They are great knives though dont get me wrong, but when it comes to chopping i have other knives i prefer to use. Of course they are larger and in a higher price range too though.

Call me sometime. I've got some amazing ideas for flower arrangements. Tackett could use some pointers on his petunia presentation too.
