I have been though 3 nines now. I gave one away, sold the other 2 to get something else... Cant remember what now though LMAO

They are great knives though dont get me wrong, but when it comes to chopping i have other knives i prefer to use. Of course they are larger and in a higher price range too though.
To each their own World, I love my Nine with no end because of the fit and feel.
Mind me asking what knives you prefer?

Call me sometime. I've got some amazing ideas for flower arrangements. Tackett could use some pointers on his petunia presentation too.

*Gasp* how dare you say that about his petunias! :P

This is what i really need...

Croc haters.

Crocs are hands down the best camp shoes and kayaking shoes.
They're light, and they're comfortable after a long day of hiking in your boots.
They're a quick slip-on for that late night pee.
In terms of kayaking, they dry quickly, and they float.

And I've long stopped caring about what other people think of my appearance.

However, tradewater has some tactical Crocs, and even he doesn't kick doors with them.

+1 :thumbup::thumbup:

Doc

Catching up here... I do have a pair of crocs, I only wore them when I was working in the kitchen. Now that I don't they have been relegated to "around camp" shoes. However my FAVORITE shoes for trails and kayaking are my Vibram FiveFinger shoes. I've worn them so much I've worn holes in them and got another pair. However the second pair were the filas and they weren't AS comfortable I think because the sole was at least 2x as thick. Better for off trail but not comfortable. They DID drain better though.

I have the KME and it's fantastic for sharpening PLUS the customer service is second to none. That being said my stones got broke in the move so I am going to get a new set at Blade, and hoping to stock up on the other stuff too. I turned my 11 into a frickin' laser on that KME. Started with the roughest and took it down to a 12° per side edge and worked all the way through green Bark River compound on a strop.

Trade that knife is going to be GORGEOUS! It's a great design. A lot prettier than my design! What steel did you use? And are you going to forge it or do stock removal?

For me....Man those honestly look like the most uncomfortable things i ever seen LMAO my toes like to stick together... My little toe kind of hides behind its neighbor too HAHA I thought thong flip flops were uncomfortable but those look like 10 times worse!!

...Vibram FiveFinger shoes...

Those look interesting, but not only do I have fairly large feets, I have long wiggly monkey toes... almost like a normal person's fingers... so I suspect proper fit would be a problem :o

That's the thing, the actual Vibrams AREN'T. The Filas I notice I feel it between my toes but the vibrams I don't feel it. The thing about the Filas is that the last two toes are in one "toe" it is a 4 toe design. THAT is why I notice it cause there is something "different." That with the fact that the vibram material is thinner, and it's breathable it really isn't bad at all. Plus the sole of it sits so low it doesn't come up between your toes but on the filas it does.

Good grief that thing makes my BK9 look like a letter opener....

I'm just wondering why he had to cut down live trees for his demo? If he really wanted to test his blade he could have banged on some railroad ties or something. I would have been truly impressed then. I'm no greener by any means, but I see this and I think, good blade, d-bag human being.

Now like i said the 9 is a great blade, and for the price its extremely hard to beat.

But my 2 favorite choppers are my competition cutter from Dan Keffeler. And My Deimos Chopper from Giedymin. The performance of both are on a completely different level. But both weigh around 2 pounds, the comp cutter has a 10" blade, and the giedymin has a 14" blade.

Deimos from Giedymin

Keffeler comp cutter

I own the exact knife he used in this video.... Its also the knife that won the 2x4 derby at the 2011 national championship.

Hot damn that Deimos makes me moist.

I respectfully disagree. It's not like those trees are in danger of becoming extinct on that property. Maybe he needed the space or the firewood. Maybe he wanted the other trees to have more room to grow to maturity. Maybe they were too close to his house and he wanted them out of the way so a bad storm wouldn't knock 'em down and take out his roof... That's how responsible forestry/land stewardship works...

I don't know Dan personally so I can't really vouch for him, but it would take a LOT more than cutting down a couple trees for me to call him a "d-bag human being". ;)

my Vibram FiveFinger shoes.

Those crazy looking things? Wouldn't be caught dead in them. :D

Gotta be careful about teasing Guyon, though... he's one of those sneaky cats who remembers all the ball-busting... doesn't say a whole lot at the time... and then much later when you least expect it, he'll come out of nowhere with a lightning-bolt zinger. :D

I'm more of an equal opportunity ribber.
I really don't keep score, unless it's breakfast battle royals with Derek or getting over on tradewater. Sometimes, I even have to get other mods to remind me who's been bad.
Heck, I had some guy come up to me at Blade and start apologizing, and I didn't have a clue at first what the heck he was talking about. Took me a while to even remember who he was.

Why in the world would someone bang on railroad ties? And why would that impress you?

Also overgrowth of small tress makes it harder for large trees to get the light and nutrients they need.

The guy is completely changing the way the world looks at cutlery making it better for all of us, changing the heat treat protocols of certain steel and everything. PHT uses some of his protocols for some of the best steels on the market today, Calling him a d-bag is just out of line IMO, you have no idea where he is cutting these trees down... I have land in florida that is completely wooded, ill have to cut some of them trees down to live on the land, where your sitting right now most likely use to be covered in trees... Think about it.

THANK YOU!! Strongly agree.

I have had the pleasure of talking with Dan hours on end multiple times, he is a great guy!!

More comfortable than crocs! I'm just saying! They aren't really "high fashion" though so I quit wearing them around town. However in camp they are STILL fair game... I should find those actually... I wonder how they'd do for when fishing...

Haha that's pretty funny.
Me and my buddy are oportunist ribbers, at any point we try to tear eachother apart.
That's what friendship is right? :P

Oh good god! I'm so done with living in this world! (yes this is off-topic rant!) I just got an email asking if I knew how to make DAIRY-FREE ice cream (?!) and GLUTEN-FREE donuts(!!!!!!!!!!!) Why the hell would ANYONE want EITHER of those things?! It's like asking for "Pork-free bacon" and "cow-free steak"... Just shut up and get over yourself!
