When I got to my boss's place tonight there was no semi there. When I walked into his house there was no boss there. His gf's daughter didn't know where the truck was, so I TRIED calling him and is gf about a dozen times to no avail. I figured that he must have taken is somewhere for tires, to get something fixed, or something else along those lines. Dozens of places that it could be. I ended up calling the post office to tell them I was trying to find the truck and I would apparently get there when I was able to find my boss or the truck. It turned out that the truck was at the post office for some reason. I almost said screw it and went home, so it was a good thing the postal worker I talked to thought to see if the truck was there even though its never been left there before. Beings he decided to play hide and seek with the truck, I'm going to find a way to get revenge and maybe teach him a lesson, but I'm not sure what I'll do yet. I just can't believe he didn't think to let me know where the damn truck was and that he never did call me back tonight.

Take a busy day off, that will teach him. :D

On another note Neko is STILL cracking me up over here about this damn ball. But now he has started going to the top of the stairs, dropping the ball himself and chasing it down the steps!! He has done it a couple dozen times in a row now. Its funny to watch, even funnier when i run over on all four like a dog myself and take it before he gets to it and run with the ball...he jumps all over me trying to get the ball back LOL.

I love that he stays up at night with me, its when he seems to have the most energy now that its getting warmer. He has been a little lazy during the warmer parts of the day.

Get a couple of those large plastic air pillows for packing and shipping things and tape them to his tires so that as he starts to drive off he gets startled by the loud pop. Or just dump some water under his car so he thinks there's a coolant leak.

You can also just cut his break lines. Laughs will be had as he attempts to stop then can't..... kidding.

I'm always in favor of yea old flaming bag o'poo on the door step.

I asked this as well! This is what I've been told: 1) HYDRATE! Lots of water, I'm planning on bringing my camelback 3L. 2) Wear comfortable shoes. You're going to be on your feet a LOT this weekend make sure the shoes are WELL broken in and comfortable. 3) most of the action happens in the carport at night or the "Pit" which is a bar that is in the lobby. 4) the going gear guys have good stuff, bargains sometimes. 5) downstairs from the convention hall, there is a "food court". awesome place to get quick food and drinks - the subway is a solid.

Cool. Thanks C-Bear.

Tip: drive safe! so you can tell all your fellow Canadian's that have never been able to go how awesome it was!

LOL! Will do. Might try and snap some pics.

Bring some cigs and toilet wine too.

Of course! Gotta have something to bargain with!

Whatever you do, avoid the Pit at all costs . . . nothing good ever comes of a visit there.

Whatever happens in the Pit stays in the Pit!

So the kids were playing in the driveway and the boy asked me to make him a wooden sword / knife. I have a giant pieces of 3/8 inch plyboard that I started cutting out some the designs I posted the other day. Then I used some of the trimming pieces to add to each side of the cut out for scales and used wood glue to attach it. Then I used the belt sander to grind it all down nicely. I really like the recurve. The skinner's blade is a little too fat for my likings, I will reshape it later. I still have a big enough piece should I get ambitious enough to try the bigger sword.

Those look great! Kid must have been psyched!

The absolute one thing you definitely MUST do is walk up to Rick's table and say, "Hi, Chip! How's it goin'?"... and then tell him Mr. T says howdy.

Actually, that's a terrible idea... don't do that. :D

Hmm, gonna have to get you to tell me that story in person!

The best advice I can give you is go strait to T.M.Hunts booth at 12AA and spend all of your money so not be be tempted by other trinkets of cutlery to immaturily. :D

Good logic, but its not quite that simple, still got to be in the right place at the right time......and expect a 30min. to a hour wait at any givin time at said Subway.

A visit to booth 12AA is definitely on our list! Looking forward to seeing you!

Speaking of Blade. Among the knife work I've done today due to being behind, on my "break time" ive been sowing sheaths. 9 so far tonight. 4 of my fingers are bleeding out of all of the joints. SUCKS! :grumpy:

Ugh. Maybe time to take a break?

Tom, your Tradewater is done.

Cant take a break yet. Still have a lot of work to do. I figure I can unwind when I have the table set up and all of the work is done. It will be nice to not have to look at the inside of my shop for a week or so.

Agree, stealthy and awesome.

What angle do you normally sharpen your blades to Todd? (if you don't mind giving up that trade secret)

Well bud i truly hope you do well. I wish you guys luck, you shouldnt need any luck though your blades should speak for themselves.

Knowing your situation and everything id feel much more comfortable buying that mini hawk from you than trading something if it doesnt sell at blade. Im not sure what your asking for it, but im sure its what i consider reasonable. let me know if you want, i might could even sell something real quick and get you the money before blade even if that would help you out any.

Its all good WW. If you want one of those mini hawks that bad I will definately hook you up with one if not the one I posted. I dont expect it will sell its just something to lay around and look at. The ones I do in the future im going to put a small ring on the bottom of it so you can put it on a keychain. The one you saw doesnt have that. As far as price, ive never really priced one, ive made several of them and the mini cleavers but Ive never sold one ive just givin them away to friends. Murphs Mom has the coolest one I ever did. It is a mini meet cleaver with stag handles and fileworked. Murph claims she still carries it on her keys today. Anyway, back to the topic, I make em out of scrap materials, so if for some reason the one doesnt make it back from blade, I will put one together for you and we will figure out the details then.

EVERYTHING I do is entirely by hand. I have no jigs or fixtures. Even my sharpening is done by hand and eye so to tell you what angle it is would be impossible. That may sound irresponsible business wise. But, I have never made a knife to impress anybody but myself, and I know how I like my edge and I have done hundreds of them. Every knife customer is different as far how they like there edge, and for me to get hung up on specific angles of everyones liking is something I simply do not have time for. So, the edges go out the door to my liking. Honestly, I have only had one complaint about my edge to date and he reworked it on a Lansky to his specifics and he was happy then.

Looking spiffy, Todd!

Back home from a weekend of camping... If you can call it that. Yesterday I ended go going to the nearby brewery for lunch after a 5mi hike in the morning and made an afternoon out of drinking their beer. My wood camp stove worked great! It was nice just using a handful of sticks to get water boiling for coffee and then to cook breakfast on after the flames died down.

There's a bit of a sausage fest going on in this picture...

It'll crank if you let it though.

Dang Todd. Have you thought about making knives professionally? :D

Went to Golden Corral today after my shift for breakfast. They've stepped it up a bit, bacon was pretty good. Actually holds it's shape, not that thin flimsy bacon paper some places have. They even had chicken-fried bacon and "bacon candy" which is candied bacon chunks. Pretty good breakfast for a buffet.
