Ok guys. Lots of knife folks here, I need some help.
Spyderco ffg blade (Looking at the sage bolt action) or Buck Vantage pro small, which I think is hollow grind?
Price difference is pretty big, but I want a good tough as nails folder. I am tired of nice cheaper folders that cant hold up to how I abuse them.
Fully aware that I am abusing them, thats why I want one in s30v..lol

Yea... I was reading a little while ago about the first animal tests with aspartame. I couldn't understand why anybody would think this garbage is good to eat.

Abuse how? Also how big are you looking for? No offense neither of those really say "Abus-able" when I think "abused folders" I think ZT, Emerson, Hogue... those I think can take it.
 
Not abuse as in batoning with them or anything, but I use my work knife like a screw driver as often as not, among other things, and even a good (Cheap) stainless steel doesnt like that at all.
 
Thorny what is your budget? and what style of opener are you partial to? does pocket real-estate matter? Are you really looking for something to abuse or something that stays sharp a long time and you can abuse lol?
 
I had the native 5 and it was pretty sweet but i never used it rough. I beat the snot out of my Buck Vantage Pro though. I never have a problem using it as hard as i want because of the price, and it still never lets me down.

The bone collector has kind of taken its place lately though. But i dont use it anywhere near as rough as i have used the Vantage pro. Not that it couldnt take it, im just not willing to find out with that one.
 
Well I have broken 2 gerber multi tools and a leatherman..lol
I dont want to spend a ton, but I expect that for something like S30v i will be in the 80-150ish range
WW any issues with the hollow grind ?
 
For the price you can't really beat a Vantage pro. I just find them a little small for any kind of abuse task (personally). You can get ZT 0350's off the exchange between $85-$125. Or save up another $40 and find yourself a ZT 0560. If you are a fan of Spyderco's you can get a Military or Paramilitary LNIB for $100ish.
 
Close call today. I thought I had lost my chicken foot. Turned up in the pocket of my wool jacket. It still works :)
 
So, I got my shipping notification today. Day after tomorrow my steel is supposed to show up. Seems rather... FAST! Yet, awesome!
