The Snark Knight Returns

When I want to abuse a knife I usually grab my schrade trapper. It does lock.
I don't usually abuse my vantage pro because I'm worried about chipping.

Ok guys. Lots of knife folks here, I need some help.
Spyderco ffg blade (Looking at the sage bolt action) or Buck Vantage pro small, which I think is hollow grind?
Price difference is pretty big, but I want a good tough as nails folder. I am tired of nice cheaper folders that cant hold up to how I abuse them.
Fully aware that I am abusing them, thats why I want one in s30v..lol

Not real sexy but I carried one of these for years and abused it unmercifully. It's a great USA made work knife.

Started a Ka-Bar thanks thread. If you got free steel at Ethan's (excepting E's personal stash), please give Ka-Bar a nod of thanks. They sent Ethan two big boxes of blades.

Abuse how? Also how big are you looking for? No offense neither of those really say "Abus-able" when I think "abused folders" I think ZT, Emerson, Hogue... those I think can take it.

This

Not abuse as in batoning with them or anything, but I use my work knife like a screw driver as often as not, among other things, and even a good (Cheap) stainless steel doesnt like that at all.
Dude, buy a Leatherman.:D

And this.

Well I have broken 2 gerber multi tools and a leatherman..lol
I dont want to spend a ton, but I expect that for something like S30v i will be in the 80-150ish range
WW any issues with the hollow grind ?

You can get a ZT0350 blem for $85 at kershawguy.com. He has others in your price range too.

Leatherman Surge, priced accordingly and tougher than my liver.

Diamonds aren't even that tough...

Random topic change (BTW, I dunno about the knives but Klein electrical tools are TEH ISH!) Anyway my mom rented a car to drive down to Duson, La tomorrow for a funeral. She got the car and is sitting on parking lot crying cause she can't figure out how to get the car started... It's the new Ford Escape that doesn't need keys to start and no one bothered to explain it to her. Thankfully she called me and I walked her through it. When she got home I had to go set everything on it up for her. I'm so glad I'm not going to be on this trip as, it is going to be a trip!

When my buddy got married he rented a BMW to take on the honeymoon and had me pull it up in front of the reception. There was this little slot on the dash where the whole key fob went in but I couldn't see it behind the wheel. After about 10 minuets I had to go find him and he had to walk me through it.

What's wrong with just having a normal key slot?

My belief is society is going gay, no one remembers the proper way to stick something in a hole and give it a twist! Everyone is trying to stick something where it doesn't belong, or even worse not stick it in at all!

:D It's been a ridiculously long day, my brain was totally fried by work. Had to drive 400 miles, had to interpret this morning for the IRS staff meeting, then this after at the local university having a "safe zone training" and it was just... yeah... Not even the vodka I was sipping on tonight made the day better.

OK, now I have a little to add. It's knife related, which kinda interrupts the flow of the (very) off-topic snark thread, but....there are pics, which this thread needs a few more of.

Finally getting around to finishing a kit bread knife that I've had for about a year . Scales are made of wood (duh!) - I don't know what species, it was in a grab bag of turning blanks at the Woodcraft. Might be bocote.....or not.

they're up to 600 grit, gotta get some 800 & 1200 tomorrow. I have 1500, for some reason lost to CRS:

The knife seems to be a halfway decent Japanese stainless. But it's a serrated bread knife....and I've heard not one complaint ever about how bread can really dull a knife. Last one:

I watched a guy at a local shop try to start my moms X5 for about 5 minutes before i walked out and showed him how to start it. It then took them about an hour to do a tire rotation...
