Hey guys, for those of you who don't know, Knife Rights is having their annual Ultimate Steel. It is a great chance to win awesome prizes and in my opinion it is very important for folks to support the people who defend and fight for our hobby.

Last year I won a pretty sweet custom slip joint from Joel Chamblin.

Also if you donate a minimum amount you get a free knife.

Thank you for reminding me, I need to re-up soon.

LOL.

Morning folks. How's everyone doing?

My day is going to be spent in front of the computer trying to finish a project ahead of schedule. Ugh.
I figured you'd be packing and hitting the road! Knees are hurting like a son-of-a-Guyon today. Last night they were hurting so bad couldn't make it up the stairs for bed. Now I'm drinking some coffee figuring out the day.

Yawn, work is going by fast today for some reason.
You say that like it's something bad, work going quick is a good thing!

Doing well. I believe it is about time for a 4 or 5 hour nap. I work tonight and then have a couple nights off.
Couple nights off? Sounds like you'll have plenty of time to drive to Ethan's then!

Sure ya do! It's a whole state-of-mind thing ;)

There's a hilarious clip of Peter Griffin and a dolphin... but it's not appropriate for this forum.
There is another scene where Meg is shaving his back and he coos like a walrus.

You're good to go. It's been too long since the last gathering.
Even longer for me, I'm gonna try my damndest to get out there for the fall.

I know a Peter Griffin and I live in Rhode Island.
(He doesn't live in RI, though)

So I just got home from the ER. My foot has been in pain since December when I worked for Amazon and I thought maybe I had a stress fracture or torn ligament. Well the pain finally got too much to bear and I walked like an old cripple so I went to the ER this morning after work to get Xrays and that. Well I apparently had broken my fifth metatarsal in my left foot and have just been walking on it for nearly six months. Guess I may be off work for a bit since I got put on light duty and my job won't allow me to come in unless they have light duty to perform. Hooray. Thank god for FMLA but that doesn't get me a paycheck.

Didn't mean to gripe, its just eating at me and it's good to have an outlet to vent. Also I think it's pretty manly to walk around on a broken foot for almost half a year before realizing you really need help. Or maybe that's just arrogance mixed with stupidity and stubbornness

It's an article for a magazine. Deadline got bumped up a week. Ugh.
Wow, good luck.
Sounds interesting lol.

Sorry to hear that Bearded, I hope you have a speedy recovery.
Is it a clean break?

Chameleonbear, it's definitely not a bad thing, just utterly surprising.
Most folks around these parts just call me C-Bear, it's a helluva lot easier to type out that Chameleonbear. How much longer till you're done at work? I actually have today off and I am done at work tomorrow at 1030 for the weekend. I'm on my way to Chicago (I'm heading home! WHOOT!) for the weekend.

I very much prefer the straight clear stuff.
Well, he can do the clear stuff but I think straight will be kind of hard for Psy!

DAMN man! The tootsies are important take care of them! Did they start hurting at work? If so, and you told them at work, you might be able to get it covered under WC. Granted it's a long shot but still, it's a possibility! Feel free to vent in here, it's kind of like a group of guys around a camp fire...

Well, C Bear, I get out at 1630 Est, and back at it at 0600 tomorrow.
My weekend starts at 1630 tomorrow, can't wait to back pack camp this weekend, will probably be doing it alone since my buddy has to work.
If I'm not camping I'll at least be hiking a lot.
I'm glad you get to head home tomorrow, I'm lucky to be in the services and deployed at my home base and be 15 minutes away from home everyday.
I'm really grateful for that.

For me Chicago "is home." I was born and raised there, but moved to St. Louis in 2011. I still get back up there pretty often and still have access to the apartment I lived in up there. The knife laws are incredibly stringent, the city is dirty, the traffic is horrible, the people are rude to outsiders... But it's home, it's where I'm comfortable, the food is second to none, and knowing how to get around and use public transportation make the city perfectly accessible.

Have fun in camp! I've only gotten out once so far this year, but hoping to get out more! I need to!
