I wasn't trying to be offensive bubba, I really wasn't. I know Jon lives in Ky, right up by Indiana. I actually know a lot about the family I talked to them quite a bit. I still talk to Brad and John every once in a while on Xbox.

I'm sorry, Todd. I do not understand how to square the underlined portions. He can still return the goods he took from other people.
Divorce and jail time notwithstanding, if Thrillbilly has misplaced addresses, he can still find them through back channels, and either send the people their goods or equivalent payment.
Just because he was on the nasty end of some name calling, I don't give him a pass to keep things that aren't his. In other words, I don't think butt hurt merits theft.

Im not taking offense Cbear, but know this. If your life fell apart and nobody knew the specifics but talked shit about you when it wasnt 100% your fault. I would stand up for you too. Like ive said more than once. Bad situation all around. I know poeple got screwed and I hate that. Some fault of his. Some not..............Greybush on the otherhand...... I have no idea what happened there.

Fwiw, I waited 3 months to start the thread that eventually got TB banned. I don't believe that was jumping the gun. Perhaps I should have waited 6 months or a year? After all that happened and he was banned he did contact a member here that everyone trusts. That member contacted me and got address's for everyone involved. Even after that we still didn't get our stuff back.

The whole situation sucks for everyone involved. Maybe it could have been handled differently if we had more information, but we didn't. We went by what we did know and did what anyone else would have done.

Again, I dont disagree with you.......and for the record, its been well over a year since I talked to him. But, I can tell you the embarrassment and shame played a big role in it. Again, not condoning his behavior, and there no one that would love to see stuff returned to rightfull owners than I would. But, from what I know is it was pretty much taken and sold without his knowledge while he was in the pen.
Can we just rewind and drop this topic?

well, if Thrillbilly lied to CBear, how's he supposed to know that? Cbear been played.

i DO know that Cbear, and others, offered to drive several hours, to wherever Thrill was, on their own time and dime, and pickup all the missing loot, so it could get returned. nope.

when someone offers to help you make them right, and refuses, that's not right. this isn't a dogpile, and Cbear was in the loop, or thought he was, as much as any one of us. if you know more, that's great, but we didn't.

we're talking $$$$ in missing loot. ac700wildcat is out MANY hundreds of dollars all by his lonesome. there's a missing BK1 (let's call that $300-400), and ... half a dozen other people too. it's pretty bad when a member goes rogue.

the last major thing we DID know about was his review: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/975779-Et-Tu-Brute and he was supposed to move the knife along, but 3 months went by, and that's just not acceptable without a solid reason imho.

a LOT of people spent a LOT of time trying to get ahold of him, to help, to smooth things out. Thrill either ignored us, or sent messages like "Shoot me an address. No excuse really , just shit happening. I'll get it out asap. Sorry bro". some texts. then he went silent running. never sent knives, not even one, afaik.

i'm reviewing the thread history, but it doesn't look good from that.
 
It's always hard to say what I'd do in another man's shoes, but I was raised such that, if I owe a guy something, I'll work my ass off and go without until I have him paid back.
This one is pretty black and white in my book. I've seen my parents, and especially my mother's side of the family, live by this code. You simply don't go beholden, even in the worst of circumstances.
Of course, my life has never fallen to pieces, and I imagine that sometimes black and white can get grey pretty fast. I hope I never see that kind of grey.

Again, I dont disagree. I guess I look at it little differently. Im sorry to all of you that lost stuff, and I dont blame anybody or have hard feelings about. I guess what im trying to say is the same thing that you guys are.......its unfortunate. It was ultimately his own fault. Just a sad case that not many know the whole story........if I could make it up to you guys I would, and I dont even have a horse in the race really. I'll shut up now........nobody here is wrong. Just different ways of looking at it.

now that's new and interesting information. the fact that it's basically gone permanently now, wraps up the story.

whoever took that stuff and sold it, is a thief for sure.

Thrill still has to own up though. imho. not being mean, that's just the way i see it. many people trusted him.

Thanks for trying to pull me out of the fire there WW. Tell you what. If it doesn't sell at Blade, (which I dought it will) I'll trade you something for it. You got plenty of cool gadgets.
