I've thought about making my own, but knowing that it would take 2 attempts to be functional and 4-5 before it turns out as good as I'd like, I think I'll continue to buy from someone else - who actually knows what they're doing!

Completely understandable. I've wasted a fair amount of material getting things right and even experimenting here and there. And material is not cheap...

Despite their idiocy, I still prefer Photobucket over Imgur.

P-bucket has killed the Kabar Collector's Club series of pics over in the Kabar forum. nuto had posted pics of all of the knives from the 30 years run. Unfortunately, he used p-bucket. :poop:

I am currently in the process of downloading all of our PB albums to an external drive. It's going to be a pain in the ass work in progress, but I'll feel much better once I can have a complete copy of everything!

Eye of the beholder ;)
I just like the organizing better on PB. What I'm used to, I guess. I like having the album page opened, and being directly able to copy the codes right off the page, instead of having to get the code from one image at a time. A lot of my threads have over 100 photos in them. It makes it easier for me.

I totally get it, I'm just poking fun at you. Imgur is working great for me at the moment, but I imagine I have a fraction of the photos you do at this time. It might be worth it to shoot a suggestion to the Imgur staff, they are pretty receptive it would seem and I've found them to be quite responsive to queries.

I'm checking out a few others as well. Smugmug is one of them, but not very user friendly, imo. I was youtubing tutorials for it. Not crazy about it. Fotki is another. Gotta love their homepage, haha: http://www.fotki.com/us/en/

Testing Imgur pic....

Success!!
I've had some operator error with Imgur in the past, but I think I've got the hang of it now. Not too difficult, just different than Puke-OBucket...

Hey!
That's not a Becker!
Bushfinger? Looks great regardless.

Imgur always wants me to watch other people's videos. I've posted one photo with it, but find it painful to navigate.

Imgur is somewhat of a social media experience coupled with a photo sharing platform. I pay no attention to the former as I only use it for the latter. Though I can see where it would be off putting for many, I still don't find it difficult to navigate. In fact, I find it to have one of the simplest layouts out of the different hosting platforms I've tried (Photobucket, Flickr, Images hack, etc. ).

However, it really is in the eyes of the beholder. Where one person might find something simple and straightforward, another might find convoluted and painful. If you've been using one platform for a long time, it can be rather difficult to try and acclimate to a completely new interface.

Though when it comes to free picture hosting, Imgur is one of the best out there, definitely hard to beat. But then, there goes my opinion, shooting off again... ;)

I went with Imageshack. It works similar enough to photobucket that I found it easy to use. I couldn't get imgur to work and I decided I dont want to rely on free places anymore.

Imageshack has a 30 day free trial. Its $40 a year but its 50% off right now. I think they are trying to get as many people who left photobucket as they can.

I am very happy with it.
