The Superhawk Finally

Blade length is 3.5".

Scale material is peel-ply carbon fiber.

The proto has two nested steel liners, but the production version will use full liners.

thanx much for the kind words.

You are most persistent ;)

Alright! Thanks for the info, Mr. Glesser!
This design seems absolutely perfect.
With the steel liners, the beefy 3.5" blade, and the strong compression lock --this knife will be quite a force.
I think I'll have to get two...

The proto has two nested steel liners, but the production version will use full liners.

But, but, but I prefer nested liners. :( The D4 and Yojimbo spoiled me.

With full liners, this knife will merely be an absolute must-have whose acquisition, use, and care haunts only my nightly dreams. That busts it down to the status of my heavily modified C70Ti and ZDP-189 D4 and D'Allara Drop Point.

With this news, my impatience for the Superhawk is now only a source of excruciating mania. I'm still bouncing off of the walls, but not impacting as hard. Guess I'll just have to settle for being pleased beyond my wildest and most unreasonable expectations again. :(

Ooooohhh....I will have to have one of these. My shopping list now:

1. Superhawk
2. P'kal
3. ZDP Caly 3

And then the cost of being broke....priceless.

I was also hoping for a more traditional hawkbill blade shape. Rather than change the blade shape, couldn't they consider changing the handle with a recess so that teh blade anchors more deeply into the handle and doesn't bulge out as much. The other thing that doesn't get me excited is the wire clip.

Other than that it looks sweet :)

I have a gut level feeling that the Superhawk will take up "Where The Harpy Left Off". AS brilliant and practical of a design that the Harpy was/is I must say that I believe the Superhawk will set the stage for the next generation of Spyderco's Ultra-Classic HAWKBILLS.

The Great Spyder Factory was already thee company that is synonymous with top quality Hawkbill blades. The Superhawk will not only continue in that stellar tradition but will actually even raise the bar higher and make Hawkbill standards that most companies won't even try to compete with.

They came forth with a new Hawkbill like we asked them too. It's truly up to us to support their efforts and make sure that the first run of the Superhawk sells out fast. I am truly looking very forward to the Spyderhawk. My first one will replace my G-10 Harpy as a vital every day carry. LONG LIVE THE NEW SUPERHAWK

The pictures:

Carbon fiber, VG-10, Compression Lock, wire clip, full flat grind big beautifu; hawkbill.

I couldn't be more pleased with what I'm seeing in these pictures. Spyderco is really stepping it up.

D@MN YOU TO H3LL! now im going to have to buy one!

How can you sleep at night!

This may have already been answered, but is the compression lock the same (Exact) lock as on the Para-Military?

I'm rediscovering hawkbills and I may just have to try one out for EDC.
