The Survive! Never Say Die! Chat Thread

Yea, I'm about 150 miles from work. (This week.) I could be in Wisconsin if my boss got another job there so I feel lucky. But there ain't any rideing to work for me. Especially with the over 100 lbs of tools I carry.

But I'm going to a state park when I get off. Got my hiking bag and fishing pole. Hope I catch some to put in the trophy room. :)

I don't spend much time on a bike anymore. But I do enjoy looking at the stuff you guys ride. When I was about ten years old I entered a bike-a-thon for St. Jude's Children's Hospital. You went around and got pledges per mile, or just a flat donation. Anyway, I rode some drug-store special with a banana seat and streamers out the handle bars 52 one-mile laps around town that day, and came away with a nice ten-speed. The ten speed wasn't made for our gravel roads, so my folks went with me to the store of the gentleman that had donated it to St. Jude's, and he traded out a new Raleigh BMX to me for it. Holy cow man, I thought I had died and gone to heaven.

I rode that Raleigh in the same bike-a-thon the next year another 52 miles, won the prize for the most miles ridden, but didn't have enough donors to win the big prize. Since I won the year before, all the donors that pledged 50 cents or a dollar per mile, dropped their pledges to about ten cents a mile, ha!!! and I ended up about third for money brought in. Kinda got it out of my system after that :)

Wow that's awesome! My second BMX was a black Raleigh with gold anodized rims and that thing was amazing till it was stolen. My Grandpa worked the evidence locker and surprised my with a PK Ripper to replace it! Man I wish I still had those two bikes still because they're worth big bucks now.

Nice. Yeah, it would have been good to have a little foresight as a kid. Although mine was so thoroughly shot when I got done with it, I'm not sure it was worth much :)

Ain't that the truth! I was Junior Destructo as a kid with bikes but at least they kept me from playing video games!

My 3.5 arrived yesterday !! Man, is this thing awesome.. I Loooove It !! We have been busy splitting and stacking wood to dry, this whole week.. I will definitely get some pics up soon..

So far I've gotten to play around with it while working in the yard, since it arrived.. It's crazy sharp.. It's also the perfect blend of an EDC and Utility style knife..

So thrilling getting a new badass toy in the mail, and getting to use them. Can't wait to see the photos!

Got my Necker II canvas scales today. I really dig the feel. I was afraid it was going to be too aggressive is why I got g 10. After getting a pair its surprisingly smooth while still maintaining good grip.

I almost started a new thread, but I thought I'd just put it here instead:

Check out the instagram feed on the SURVIVE! home page. The pic that looks like a blade blank is a short video of Guy showing off the new finish.

1. It looks great
2. I want my starters even more now
3. What blade is that? No choil, so 4.7???

That does look awesome. Makes me wanna order another one but I think momma_toothpick is gonna make me wait.

On another note I got some lanyards from another forum member. He did excellent with them.

Looking great. I like the new scales also.

These might come in handy when the new hardware comes out.

Yea I like the two flat heads. I can't complain about the new ones cause I don't have any yet, but I already carry a flathead on my multi-tool and some washers in my kit. I'm looking at what I gotta pack to accommodate breaking a scale or some other unforeseen reason I would need to remove them in the woods. But this standard looks promising.

I was looking at a new multi-tool like a LM wave or something with a bit driver.
